Torvik has this as a toss-up, which kind of surprised me. Every time I've watched Arizona, I've hated the matchup for us.

I also think X and Kerr might come to blows at some point.

I will be very surprised if there aren't any technicals tomorrow

Can we defend without fouling and then rebound? That'll be key to locking them up. On offense, we need to attack and hit shots. Trayce getting their bigs in foul trouble would be nice. Go Hoosiers!

I will say rebounding is the part that worries me. We just haven't been that great of a rebounding team this year.

It's odd that it's not just one thing re: rebounding. Race has been beat to the ball after good block outs, Kopp has been called for fouls for face guarding on rebounds, we've had multiple players go for the rebound and knock it away from each other, etc. I consider Trayce, Race, and JHS all plus rebounders for their position but we've given up too many O rebounds.

Maybe its time to get a lesson from the Izzo how to put a body on a guy rebounding course. For decades MSU has always rebounded extremely well. Not sure about this year, but historically Izzo drills them on how to put a body on somebody. So did RMK.

Race just seems less physically aggressive this year.

I'm hanging my hat on they haven't faced a defense like we're going to play. We're going to lock them down. X is going to have a big game, and the bench is going to play well.

This is what I'm hoping for -- and it's really, for me, about seeing our talented bench get involved again. Both Ren and JG have been taken out of their games over the past few. Ren is working on not fouling talented bigs and JG hasn't brought the same level and hasn't had the minutes to do so. We need both to keep growing their games as the season progresses.

I am now fully confident in Galloway and Bates. If we get good games out of Ren and/or JG that would be a big boost in this game.

I would've figured you had forgotten all of those big words at your age. I know I have....lol

Very lethargic. Looks like every game is a flu game. We need him to snap out of it in a bad way.

Agreed. And Woody has shown that he will play the guys that are producing, with more minutes. Maybe not starting lineup, but overall more productive minutes.

Yeah, possibly enigma haze or ectoplasm lethargy.  Maybe it's the shoes.

The cure is to hit 2 3's in a row.  That or get a double double.

two 3's in a row? Dang looks like we won't have Race back this year. At least we have a chance of him getting a double double

You hearing anything on JHS or just going off same assumptions as Weds?

Staff was saying it's not likely for tomorrow but a fan did see him last night in Vegas and JHS said he was good to go. So we'll see. I think they error on the side of caution and save him up for Kansas. That would be a full two weeks of rest

Such a huge game. I think Arizona is legitimately top 10 talented. 2 dominant bigs and a PG that knows what he’s looking for. A heralded SG. Excellent coach?!? (Maybe)

TJD is our monster and our advantage. If he gets negated here, do we have others to turn to? Both teams play similarly but Arizona looks like the slightly better version of us. Neutral court gives me hope. Need Race to put on his big boy pants or Reneau to be up for the task on defense. X not to force.

This one is a test. Let’s see what we got.

I feel like Malik Reneau is about to break out again, this time against a P5 team.

Maybe it won't be during the Arizona game, but it's coming.
