BTT Game Thread: Indiana vs. Illinois 3/11 - 11:30 am on BTN

Recommended Posts

Another day, another bad matchup for IU. But let's get the positive vibes going as this Illinois team may be the number 1 seed, but they are not unbeatable. Here is a list of teams that have beaten this Illinois team this season...

Marquette

Cincinnati

Arizona

Purdue (X2)

Maryland (by 25!)

Rutgers

Ohio State

That's 8 losses and I see 4 teams at or below IU's capabilities. Let's go IU!

In my opinion, we need to have Race, Trayce, Durr, whoever is guarding him, stand him up and then bring GallowY, Phinisee, Geronimo etc over immediately to steal it or have him pick up his dribble.
it cannot come slow or half assed, needs to be quick and decisive

Yes it will take a team effort. IU needs to bring it today. They curled up in a ball that second half against Illinois last month. Also need to bring the same intensity from the last twelve minutes of yesterday’s game. Play like that from the jump. Illinois is much better than Michigan. Can’t afford to spot them a sizable lead

I am off work today so ready for the game. We have won zero big tournament games when I am off work besides the Illinois game with Cody and the boys lol.

Remember when people thought Myles Leonard was better than Cody Zeller?

Worried about foul trouble today for X and TJD. Frazier puts so much pressure on the defense with his quickness that I can see X being a little too aggressive. And TJD seems to always get into foul trouble against Kofi.

Thankfully we have Rob Phinisee back to help guard Frazier and Plummer. Not having him last game really hurt when X had to go out of the game.

You never know with these conference tournaments. Higher seeded teams lose all the time, it's happened plenty this season already.

I can see why coaches would rather prioritize rest and recovery instead of playing for a higher seed.

Man I hope we come out swinging today and advance to Saturday!
