Stuhoo Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Thought I'd break this out since it has been a frequent topic of discussion. So far this year we have almost always gone with: X Parker Miller Race Trayce After 'Chicago-fest' we had a one game staring lineup of: Trey Anthony Miller Race Trayce On Woody's MSU pre-game press Q & A today, he was asked about changing the starting lineup. Previously when he was asked that, he was pretty clear that he was sticking with the usual. Today his answer was "I'll make a decision in terms of where I go with our starting lineup." He then changed the subject. He was asked again as the last question specifically about Trey starting. His answer? "...coming off the bench he's been great. The other night the first time he got a crack to start he was phenomenal the whole game. It's a thought; we'll have to make that decision after today's practice to see where we are. But he's definitely played well enough to be in the lineup." Makes it seem that it is very likely that there will be a starting lineup change at MSU, at least to include Trey Galloway. PS; Trey is 'up' to just under 30% from three this year. Not there yet in that respect, but trending better. After starting the year 1-6 from three he's been 4-11. reconmkd Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I am hopeful that a change comes, can’t keep starting flat and playing from behind. Please just split up Stewart and Kopp! I still think we may see a different line up due to Chicago-fest (like the name). Quote
HoosierAloha Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 It ONLY took the suspension of 5 players, including 2 starters, for the starting lineup to change. I don't know why Woody would talk to the media about this or tip his hand to whizzo. Shocking! I figured he'd just change it right before the game without anyone knowing. Maybe some players are still in the doghouse or maybe they're not?! Maybe this is the opportunity Woody hardens his resolve to set the tone for the rest of the season or maybe he softens again. Maybe this is the game Kopp starts and finally reaches double digit points in a Big 1.o game, he made progress by shooting last game or maybe he puts up another gooser. Maybe this is the game we pass out... of the post and get our shooter (s?) going or maybe we watch as they stand around. Maybe this is the game we turn the opponent over or maybe lay turds all over the court. Maybe this is the game our starting wings defend 1v1 and in the PnR or maybe they continue to over help and get beat. Maybe this is the game 5 players get suspended, there are still almost 24 hours left until the game or maybe they won't. Stay tuned for the real players of Indiana basketball as they try not to lay turds all over the Breslin Center! coonhounds 1 Quote

I think the last time he was very close to changing the starting lineup was before the Penn State home game, but the regular starters came out on fire that game and the change was delayed. Now, with the suspensions + Gallo playing really well it seems that the tide has finally turned. Hallelujah! It's about time. Quote

Personally, if I was coaching I would like not start a player the next game after a team violation. More as a reminder that it should be earned and is contingent on doing the right things. DWB Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 If CMW starts the "regulars" for the MSU game, he's not near as smart as I thought he was. Even Stevie Wonder can see that Galloway far exceeds overall contributions to the team over Kopp & Stewart (maybe combined). MikeRoberts and tkbbn 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I want Kopp to be good. I like him. But he’s known as a shooter and about only that. He’s been playing extremely poorly, Almost all season. I hoped he’d be Nick Zeisloft role. But he’s a defensive liability. And wants to drive too much. He can’t. IUFAN1976 Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 Mark it down, we won’t have the same starting lineup as we have had this entire year, minus a couple games. IMO, he’ll use the same lineup to start the game that he did against NW, but if isn’t that lineup, Trey will be starting. Quote

If they're going to start, hopefully JUST one of them, you actually use them. I don't think he really had that good of numbers before arriving in Bloomington. I guess some would say it was being on a bad NW team. If you like him don't look at his advanced stats this season, especially in Big 1.o games. It's even worse that he's played the fourth most conference minutes for us... coonhounds Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 If trey isn't in the starting lineup I give up on Woodson in fact since he hasn't already been it's a crime. He isn't a great player but he definitely make a team better and should have been starting since the Ohio St game imo. Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk Quote

We'll be utterly shocked when Gabe Brown goes for 30 in the first half against Kopp. WayneFleekHoosier, lillurk and MikeRoberts 2 1 Quote

They're both wings, everything Kopp can do Geronimo does better outside of a slight difference in 3PT%. We as fans, and the coaching staff, have this image Kopp brings something to the lineup that others don't. I guess he does bring experience, on mostly losing teams. Glad he hasn't been in trouble and is a good student, his little vlog or whatever is pretty funny too. (sucks that we have to make this differential, AGAIN) WayneFleekHoosier and Stuhoo 1 1 Quote

Agree, yet Kopp still starts. I believe in Woodson, but he does appear to be stubborn and slow to acknowledge when things aren’t working. Quote
