I know people like to freak out after a loss maybe I'm crazy but I really don't think we're a bad team lol

While true, it's not just after losses that people freak out, they freak out in the opposite direction after big wins. When you have a bad loss after a good win, the pendulum swings all the harder back the other way.

Yes, good point. Sometimes good teams just lose (even occasionally at home!) We’ve been fragile for awhile, with obvious reason, but, to paraphrase Osterman from this week’s Mind Your Banners, not every game is a program referendum.

I love how some of us freak out when we lost a couple games early on that we shouldn't have lost. We get told every team loses games like this and everything is fine. Now only a few weeks later our margin for error is small and we will probably miss the tournament again. Same stuff every year. We're fine until we aren't lol. Tonight is must win don't bother telling me it isn't because we can win this game or that game later! Anyway rant over go Hoosiers!

We're early in the Woody era, I'm more concerned HOW we play and less concerned about results. The TOs have gotten better but there is reasoning they've gotten better because of the recent opponents. The shooting (FT, layups, 3PT, 3PT volume, etc.) haven't gotten better. We've seen signs that we can run some good plays to free makers but go long periods of just dumping it into the post and hoping. It's easy to say we'll get better when we get better players but we need to get better before we get better players. Our rebounding numbers are still questionable, our defense (and the smart e word that comes with it) need to get better, etc. Another massive aspect of program building is development, we heard all the talk but what are the results of that? Lots of questions!

Stop with the pearl clutching, IU fans.  I have inside knowledge that Coach Woody is changing the starting lineup.  Our point guard will play like I. Thomas did to lead the team to the National Championship way back when.  Our shooting guard will be better than Alford with Moye's athleticism. Smooth forward is a combo between Scottie May and Rick Calloway.  Power forward will play like George McGinnis.  Center will be similar to Jared Jeffries and Kent Benson. All in their prime I may add...

And Coach Woody has gotten rid of the suit he wore against UM.

I never lie.  And I always tell the truth.

By the way...every darn game is a must win.  Always.   \

If a player is on the court...he must play his best.

Some of yall really need to relax lol. We're 14-5. We have an opportunity this week to put even more cushion between us and the bubble. We've had some tough losses and some great wins. Don't think anyone reasonably expected us to be competing for a 1-4 seed and a big ten title this year why are we acting surprised that in the first year of a new coach we aren't a perfect team yet??

I would only say nobody expected us to be perfect but I think some of us expected better results. I also think most have seen this to many times. Also if we do fail to reach the tournament I would think that would be a really bad sign for Woody success here. The roster we have is not even close to perfect but I think a reasonable good coach could get them in the tournament. Let's see what happens big test tonight

I think most people, myself included, will agree with your second post here. But being realistic about this team's inability to sustain any momentum, which until we can, will keep us squarely in danger of missing the tournament, doesn't mean anyone is "acting surprised that we aren't a perfect team yet."

If we lose this game, this will definitely be a bad loss

Lose this game and without some dramatic turnaround, the season is pretty much one last bad loss from being over. They drop tonight and they’ll have no more room for error.
