Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Hopefully a laugher and lots of minutes for the second unit as Merrimack is jus 4-7. Live Stats Quote
incrediboy Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 Gonzaga beat Merrimack 80-55 but I heard it wasn't the cakewalk the final score would indicate. 42-31 at the half. Gonzaga had 17 turnovers to 8 for Merrimack. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/game/_/gameId/401371287 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Merrimack isn't good, but they aren't Northern Illinoinish bad. More along the lines of Eastern Michigan and Jackson State. Would prefer a Jackson State type of game than Eastern Michigan. They play VERY slow (348th in pace) and are inefficient on offense (323). Defense is okay, especially for a low D1 team (148th in efficient). Games of interest: lost at Rutgers in what must have been brutal to watch (48-35). Lost at Virginia Tech 72-43. Their only player with size is Jordan Minor, who is 6'8" and 240 pounds. Other than that, they will be small or slight. Minor is their best player, averaging 14.4 ppg and 6.5 rpg. Mykel Deering is their only true deep threat but he only averages 7 1/2 points/game. No other player than Minor averages in double figures; second leading scorer is Mikey Watkins and he's only 5'11". str8baller and Dave from Dayton 2 Quote

Yea, I was surprised to see them ranked in the 250ish range on Kenpom. Figured they be closer to 350. We should win easily, but not the worst opponent in the world. Quote
Stuhoo Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Would love to get a look at Duncomb today for two reasons: 1) That’ll mean we’re winning big, and 2) I wanna get a real look at Duncomb MoyeNeeded, RaceToTheTop and cybergates 3 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 What are you looking for mostly today? For me it's offensive execution. Merrimack's only good quality seems to be defense and we were so bad offensively in the second half at Wisky. Quote
Demo Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Why did Trayce go for the tough crosscourt pass to Stewart instead of the easy short corner pass to Kopp? Quote
LIHoosier Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Trayce should be going for 30+ again Quote
LIHoosier Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Merrimack is almost 300th in 3%, hopefully water finds its level Quote

HoosierAloha Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Getting lit up from deep by Merrimack…It’s always funny when we talk about what no name player is going to light us up. There’s a reason for it. Do we not talk on defense? Why do we over help so much? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
Demo Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Stupid, undisciplined foul by Stewart. He commits way to many of those for a 23 year old player. Quote
