reconmkd Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Penix is tearing it up! Amazing what a half way decent offensive line can do for a stud QB. I know Penix couldn’t stay healthy with us, but I think our o-line had a LOT to do with that! thebigweave and colonel06 2 Quote

colonel06 Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Well he’s throwing a perfect game on 9-17-22 so far against Sparty at the half ! Quote
Demo Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Now that Nick Sheridan is on DeBoer’s staff, I wonder if DeBoer ever looks at him in film sessions and says, “Seriously dude, how did you F that kid up?” DChoosier 1 Quote

DChoosier Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I’m trying to read Penix’s lips when he is on the sideline and am pretty sure he just asked a coach “why are all of these people still here in the second half”. Hovadipo 1 Quote

Maybe more so. reconmkd and Hovadipo 1 1 Quote
cthomas Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Watching Penix tonight, I realize that it is just the IU football curse that caused all of his problems here. Now that he is free of that, I hope he has a great year and shows how talented he really is. Quote
Hovadipo Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Just now, HoosierTrav said: I think it had just as much to do with the offensive coordinator. Maybe more so. Yep. Deboer had him (and Peyton Ramsey!) balling out with a verrrry similar offensive line. DChoosier, HoosierTrav, BtownStrength and 1 other 4 Quote

Ryno6284 Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Michael Penix Jr. is great when healthy! I hope him the best at UW! Why should we wish otherwise of a former Hoosier? He won us some games we should've never even been in! IU football is always going to be in the dumpster, every once in awhile we will get a bowl birth, which, we should we be in jubilation about! The thing about IU football is that as miserable as we usually are, once in a while we get an exceptional talent and they burn brightly and give us joy. If you have followed IU football long enough, you know who they are. Doesn't mean that we win many games, but they sure are fun to watch. Thanks for the memories, Michael Penix, Jr. BtownStrength, Hardwood83 and Hovadipo 2 1 Quote

It’s pretty rare to get them back-to-back, but Dasan McCullough is next up. I sure hope he sticks around. LockdownD, craigyv88 and cthomas 3 Quote
HoosierX Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Also, is DeBoer going to be at UW for more than a season? Quote

If Nebraska is smart (they are NOT, mind you) they go after the hometown-ish kid. Washington isn’t a bad football brand at all though, so it would have to be what he considers a good fit because he can win some meaningful football games there. Probably depends on what shakes out with re-alignment the next 8-12 months too. rayl456 1 Quote

Washington is going to try and keep him, but if they end up going to the Rose Bowl, expect another program to pull out the armored truck for him. rayl456 1 Quote
