Appreciate the insight, out of curiosity - what is the biggest change you have seen with Trent over the past 12 months, and what are the key areas of improvement he will need to work on?

I didn’t get to watch a ton of games while he was at Montverde, mainly highlights but I did catch a few, so hard for me to give much insight but I’ll try…. The thing that sticks out most to his improvement is just how much more explosive and physical he played this year. He is so much stronger and quicker than he was at heritage hills. Some of the games and highlights he was going through ppl. The other thing that impressed me was just his body language. Trent is to let things affect his attitude alot when he was younger. Teams around here could frustrate him bang foul him and he would lose his head a little. I didn’t see much of that watching him at Montverde. Maybe that’s because in high school they put 4 guys on him and beat the crap out of him and while at Montverde it wasn’t like that. Who knows…..I still believe defensively is where he is going to need to improve the most. He really didn’t “have” to start playing it until this year against better guys. In junior high and high school he could be lazy or not guard because he was longer, bigger, just better than everyone….The one thing about Trent is he works his @$$ off. The thing he liked most about Montverde is he could workout 2-4 times per day on his game. The kid loves the game and has never been afraid to work.

Trent has been named MVP of this year's Montverde team.  That's a heckuva honor for this young man.

Ya know, any kid that is a top 100 recruit and the most recent MVP at Montverde would be expected to contribute as a freshman.

Trent Sisley just happens to be a Jimmy Chitwood clone from Santa Claus, Indiana.

I guess it’s possible that a hometown hero can be coming in ‘underrated’. Sure as hell looks like he’s gonna be a bonafide rotation guy.

Yup, competition aside, he scored the bulk of his 21 through putbacks. That indicates a guy playing very hard. You want to see the floor as a freshman on this team? Hitting the glass hard is the perfect way to do that. The fact Trent grew up an IU fan and committed to the university - not a staff - makes it incredibly easy to root for the kid. Going to be fun watching his career unfold here.

"During a defensive possession in the fourth quarter, the five starters started a ‘defense’ chant sparked by Sisley’s relentless pressure – a true testament as to how the freshman is viewed by his teammates."   Sisley will be leading this team next year, my prediction.

It pains me to say this, but Painter is a very good talent evaluator, and he really, really wanted Sisley.

I can see why he did.  Fortunately, Trent has always been 100% IU regardless of the coach.

I’m thrilled to have him and hopefully we consistently get kids like him under CDD.

Most of the points were through putbacks? He only recorded 3 rebounds and had 9 points from 3s so that doesn't seem likely. Regardless, it does sound like he played very hard. Effort and productivity will get PT.
