Just no.

OK, we'll obviously see.

I will be more than happy to "eat my words" if I'm wrong, but I bet he gets 15-18+ points against us.

If he gets 17 points on 6-21 shooting he will not have created his own shot well. (now watch him go all IUFW and hit 6-9 threes -- no wait, if he gets close to that Woody will put Fife in if he has to.).

I'm afraid I'll need oxygen- sect EE.  My wife actually wants to go this time- her reason? She hasn't had an Assembly Hall hot dog in years :(

Tell her their nothing to write home about. If it's like football they will be gone by the first tv timeout too.

I will be there! Can't wait...last time I went to the debut of an Indiana coach it didn't turn out so well.....I still have bad memories from Indiana State. Hoping tomorrow erases that. I went with my now wife (as many of you know a diehard UK fan) to the ISU game. Going with my dad who is an IU fan. I'm convinced she brought bad luck...lol

A few things I'm interested in:

1) Energy- I hope the players play with more enthusiasm than we've seen the last 4 years. The last two times I've seen a game at Assembly Hall (Indiana State and NIT Wichita State) the energy has been AWFUL. Usually going to a game is fine but it was miserable. Give the crowd something to cheer about. Assembly Hall was rocking when I went to see IU in 09 against Northwestern State. It's possible against a low-major.

2) Rotation Spots- Starters are Xavier, Parker, Kopp, TJD, Race. Have think based on the Bahamas trip that Tamar (if he plays tomorrow) is your 6th man and Geronimo and Phinisee aren't far behind minutes wise. I saw Woody say he would prefer to play 10 guys. Have to think Durr takes one of the remaining spots due to his size and experience. I'm sure early on Duncomb will see minutes if Durr is out. Question is who gets the most minutes between Lander, Galloway, and Leal? Right now I'd bet Galloway but we will see. Unfortunately think two of those three will be unhappy with their minutes.

I'm not sure where my expectations are for this team. I can see them as high as 3 or as low as 6 in the B1G IMO. I expect this team to make the tournament and have a realistic chance of winning a game. I think they are a Top 25 caliber team. Are they a second weekend team? Final Four? IDK. But I'm impressed with how this roster has improved since last year. You have a legit All-American, POY in Trayce. If a couple of guys can be All-B1G good, watch out. My best bet would be Xavier and Race.

One thing I like a lot about this team (Usps alluded to it) We Are OLD and battle-scarred.

When you've got a bunch of 22 and 23 year olds in there, you've got a group that has been pumped up as the next big thing and had life smack them upside the head, only to have to get up again. Every single player in our starting five has been in that position:

  • TJD a five star who even with some big successes has lost a lot of games and isn't on draft boards yet
  • Kopp was one of NW's highest rated recruits ever, came into a first-time NCAA appearance, and saw them decline precipitously
  • Race lost about two years to redshirt, concussions, and other injuries, and lost the coach that recruited him
  • X was on draft boards after a very successful freshman year, and watched his and Capel's fortunes decline at Pitt
  • Parker lost his dad, who he left Pitt to play under after a really good freshman ACC campaign

These are talented guys that should play with the edge of someone who's been spat on once or twice.

We’re basically a post-mission BYU team. Bunch of grown-ace men out there. And Tamar.

Yup, Rob and Durr have been through the wringer too.

Does anyone think they're gonna make Parker Stewart nervous after what he's been through? I seriously believe that if some dumb-@$$ Purdue fan talks trash about Parker's dad, Race and X are gonna go in the stands and break someone in two. Fife might join them.

I’m not sure Purdue fans would go that low.

Illinois fans, though…

I’ve got 4 tickets for tomorrow’s game. I’d like to either sell them or if someone who has never been to a game before (or their kids) I would like to gift you with them. Let me know. Otherwise I’m gonna just hand them to a random stranger at the grocery.

How generous of you. Hope someone takes you up on that offer. Hope to see a great crowd there tomorrow night. I'm in Florida so will be watching on BTN.

Ding dong the bit*h is dead!  Byeeeeee Archieeeeee

And hello Coach Woodson.  I haven't been excited about IU basketball since that win on an aircraft carrier against Kansas.  It's been all downhill since then.  And when I thought we hit the bottom, we hired Archie Miller.  Nobody could sink below the bottom like that guy.

Raise us up from the ashes Woody!  Let's effin do this!!

Win on an aircraft carrier against Kansas..? Did I miss this? I believe you’re referring to the game that was supposed to happen on JBPHH but was played at the Stan Sheriff Center on UH-Manoa?

Probably.  Was it supposed to be on an aircraft carrier but something happened?  It's been so long since IU basketball was exciting...

That season we opened with this win over Kansas, and then smacked around UNC to have the two best early season wins. Then the wheels fell off.

The Kansas game was a overtime win. Clifton Moore not sure if I spelled that right hit a big three. I think we beat north Carolina pretty big at home then as mentioned we sucked in big 10 and missed tournament. Og did go out with injury i believe during Louisville game? Not sure but that hurt season
