You know how recruitments go.    When he cancelled the first Bama visit for being sick and actually rescheduled the visit that was probably a clue.   Getting a kid out of the south without a prior relationship would of been a huge win.  Despite many thinking coach Ya had a prior relationship with him he actually didn’t and the first time they talked was when coach Ya was on the IU staff.    Those are the logistics factors IU had to over come getting a southern kid away from the SEC.   Throw in Oats recruiting like a powerhouse basketball program that has nothing to do with location($) and it looks like IU is going to miss out

Loves both programs. Alabama with Oats is pretty compelling.

One is in the area of the country that feels more like home.

Both are a long drive for family, but one has 10 road games a year that are near home.

Imagine  you’re right about regional appeal. Also can’t help but wonder, like Garcia, what role the B1G’s earned reputation as the WWE played in the thought process of a skilled, athletic big. Tough at the moment for Woody to sell his system when no one’s actually seen it when they’ve seen plenty of 51-49 Wisconsin wrestling matches. But, I’m not gonna pretend this one doesn’t hurt.

I realize that many have an issue with the Hoosier Hysterics guys but I don’t see anything wrong with that particular tweet. 

If the rumors are true this is a bummer as the earlier sentiment was that Bama had no shot and I thought the fact that they are supposedly landing Walker, the number one rated PF in the US, would help our chances.  If Alabama gets Walker they will have landed three of the top 18 rated players in the country plus potentially #62 Clowney and #63 Griffey. That’s crazy.
