Then win! Seems to make people happy, eh?

Of course Indiana fans seem sour. They won at the highest levels for a half-century & suddenly became mediocre due to bad hires. Stu you hit the nail right on the head: Win and Life is Good

edit: And don’t be a freaking weirdo kissing your teenage son on camera before/after games

I like your style Stu. To clarify this GIF was me nodding in agreement to your post. Far from irrelevant. In fact I’d argue none of my visuals have been irrelevant. In fact I’ve tried to convey to the group what information I’ve been provided.

Some post long missives to make their point. Totally fine. I prefer pop culture visuals to espouse mine..

Very much appreciate the clarification. And I also like your ‘words’.

Peace

Isn’t that what an insider is? Someone privy to inside information that the rest of the public isn’t?

That's why message board insiders don't exist. A true insider with actual knowledge won't share anything. Someone who's roommate is an Uber driver who gave someone a ride isn't an insider. They're a tipster

Maybe this is why we get crappy coaches because the top coaches don't want to come here. They see the fan base turns quickly on the coach if they don't win right away.

That's any fan base of a high major, basketball-centric program.  It takes stones to take on any of those jobs, yet they can get winners. If the fans are too much, you weren't fit for the job anyway.

And this job? This job is at the heart of a state that proudly touts itself as basketball country. This program rose to the pinnacle of college basketball, in basketball country, under a hard @$$ who didn't give or accept excuses and had skin thicker than leather. The expectation for this job was set 50 years ago and hasn't been met for 25 of them. The person who can withstand the scrutiny, block out the noise, and handle his s*** is the person we need on our sideline. That person cannot also be the same person who gets feelings hurt by rabid fans.

Sounds like something I would say, but if you do have the thread links, he was on my short list behind Brad, Billy, and I want to say Fife? Let me know if you find them because I’d like to see my short list again after Crean was dismissed.

You can use the search function to find the Archie Miller hired thread but it’s a little work to go back far enough and then I think around page 260 is where it gets going.  You said IM DONE not I’m dead.  Very interesting to go back a read those

Meh.  You can never be wrong when you post things that are left to interpretation.

Goodman doesn’t give a crap about softening the blow and his sources aren't on the IU side (he's said it's agents and other coaches (not IU) on his podcast). He wants the most clicks possible- more polarizing the info the better. I'm sure he heard those things but not from IU or someone in the know from our side.

And couldn’t coaches currently playing have their agents lie so the focus isn’t on them while they are still playing. For instance Scott Drew says if anyone calls you deny because we are focused on making the tournament and don’t want to be a distraction

So why did UK have to settle for Pope or UL for Kelsey

I am not talking about the administration but the fans turning on coaches at the first site if trouble.

Were the fans wrong to turn on the last two experiments?  I was willing to give AM a go, MW should have NEVER been hired in the first place.

If we can't have a guy that is a great coach and recruiter, which would you rather have -- a great X and O coach or a great recruiter?

I'll take the X and O guy at IU because money is a pretty good recruiter.

Agreed. Money levels the playing field for those that have access but have never had clout.

However, I would throw in a third important factor: A motivator. We've seen what happens to a coach with considerable X/O skills but zero motivational leadership a la Archie Miller.
