I think it’s a good day to go outside to get some fresh air. I think I’m going to get on the McCollum train if there is room. But I have no idea who the next coach will be. All of this is exhausting.

....You have to admit, RTZ was pretty bold with his last photo.

You know this how? You are the only person saying this. I think I believe what Jerry and the rest of the people with info are saying.

Jerry and the others aren't saying anything -- because there is nothing to say.  Keeping a "lid" on it until later this week when the tourney gets underway is unlikely as hell.  Today would be the day for any announcement -- right between selection and the first four.

I know this because I can add and read between the lines.  There are 3 possible "Home Run" hires -- guys who would basically guarantee IU would be dancing next year:  Brad Stevens, Jay Wright, and Dusty May.  Stevens and Wright are not coaching and there is not reason they could not have been announced weeks ago, let alone today.  Guys know time is of the essence and would want to hit the ground running full speed.

Dusty signed his extension at Michigan -- so it's not like Scott was on the phone after Woody quit and and saying "Dusty, how does $$$$ sound?"

Guys who might be "Home Runs" -- Pearl, Wade, Beard -- aren't realistic because of their baggage or circumstances.

That leaves everyone else -- McCollum, Cronin, Brownsomething, DeVries, McDermmot, etc.  All of them are probably "solid" hires, but they may take some time to build something at IU, or they may crash and burn.  Definitely TBD.  But there is no evidence that Scott has gone and seen any of them.  These guys aren't hired over zoom -- a personal meeting takes place at some point.

Which means, exactly what I said.  They have a list.  They probably have vetted certain guys.  Maybe even know the possibilities and likelihoods.  And when the coach exits the tournament, the scramble will begin -- along with Iowa, et. al.  We may hit, we may miss.  Nothing is set in stone.   Meanwhile, the portal opens and everyone else starts moving forward.  We are still looking for a coach.  Just the way I see it.  I pray I am wrong.

Woody’s gonna be back, isn’t he? Doesn’t matter who’s on your list if they all say no.  If I’m Dolson & it gets down to Brownell, why pay the $8million buyout for Woody & for Brownell?  Think about that, $16 million + $5-6 annually for Brad Brownell?  SD should be fired if that’s where we end up, but if McCollum goes to Iowa, welp…

RTZ posted the Pilot Brad pic less than an hour ago, and that's already 10 pages deep. We're all crazy, folks...

People will attached themselves to what they want.  To me the guy who came in talking about DD talking about having their coach and then McCollum magically appears on his show isn't a coincidence.

There is absolutely no way this is true.  No way in the world Dolson went through the mess last spring and has just sat on his hands the last few weeks since Woody was "retired."  I cannot fathom how anyone can actually believe this.  Now we may disagree with whatever Dolson has done.  But there is no doubt he has been working on this situation for a long time.

Define "working."  If Dolson was a big dog, he'd have this buttoned up with a whale.  We are still chumming the water.

Other than the fact he has a posting history on another site… based on his activity / posting style here… not much reason to think of him too differently than Isaac and the other newcomers who claim to have info lol.

I think you are right and I don't think there is any home run hire lined up. My guess is we end of with mcvollum, and we can hope and pray he can cut I at this level. Some love him. I don't really but when you limit yourself on who you will hire you aren't going to get a proven winner at a p5 level. They mostly all have baggage.
