How many coaches want out of a blueblood job with a massive buyout? Guarantee you this can be challenged in court.

On the bonus level, Cronin can make $25,000 for every regular season Pac-12 title, $15,000 for every Pac-12 tournament title and $10,000 for winning Pac-12 coach of the year. The academic performance of Cronin's student-athletes could also end up giving him an additional bonus as high as $60,000.

I didn’t ask you about Cronin, I asked you if you know if any of the other coaches of the dozens of schools that have changed conferences have tested your theory.

6 candidates = MT + 4

That math is short by one. Are you saying MT counts twice, as in The Turge is candidate 1a and 1b ?!

Re-read what I wrote... four of the five others are candidates I haven’t seen mentioned here (though I haven’t read all of this thread).

my strong sense at this point is it’ll be Brownell for what it’s worth…

Thanks! I am definitely not an insider and don't have any inside information.

The only even close to "inside info" I've ever had on this is what I shared from last search when I asked a high-ranking Celtics employee if he thought Stevens would ever coach in college again, and he "spit out his coffee" laughed at the notion.

But i have been on the inside at the NBA level, albeit a long time ago at this point, so i believe i have a unique perspective on how these things go down, how information gets out and how these organizations operate.

It's just one experience, but I hope it's helpful.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen it asked, but what did you do for the Celtics back when you worked for them?

Yeah, I agree with that. I don't think there is any chance that Scott would go for a coach just because he would sign sooner. It's going to be crazy to see how it plays out. NCAA Tournament, 30 day portal window, revenue sharing and the new IU coach getting a massive amount of money. Will be very interesting.

Norman, thank you for your information, I am not trying to refute your information or insert any bias into this statement, I just feel their needs to be a note for clarification on the portal because it appears to me that some are misinterpreting how the portal window works and assigning too much weight to that time frame. This has been said before but the window is the time allotted for players to put their name in the portal, that does not mean that the players have to finalize deals in that time period. Yes, I believe that having a leg up and getting to work on portal players that enter the portal asap is important, but I am of the opinion that this is being blown out of proportion to how important that portal window date is in the context of having a new coach by then. It is my opinion that it does not parallel football in any way as one has a much larger staff and a much larger roster to fill when it comes to football, and not to mention it's not as important that a football coach focus on the post season at their previous school if they are playing a bowl game outside of the CFP.

No I don't know of any one who has challenged their contract. And of course that doesn't mean it hasn't happened or couldn't happen.

……I’m a HS teacher in southern Indiana and I just saw a student wearing a Boston Celtics hoody in the hallway.
Does that mean anything! lol

BGleas?

Haha, not me. I don't live in Indiana, but stoked to hear there are more of us IU/Celtics fans out there.

There is absolutely no way. None. I don’t see how that’s possible.

For the record, I was asking BGleas for his opinion on the matter, not wondering if the kid in the hoodie is BGleas.....

That’s like telling people you didn’t call the bank shot. Just let it roll!

He's no where near SD 1st choice because he knows IU fans are not shortsighted and will look past just the last 2 years especially considering how down the ACC has been.

He is the hire that makes me go "yep that's IU basketball the last decade" so I don't think that's who it would be I think Dolson VERY determined to shake that very trend  BUT unfortunately it also wouldn't surprise me
