I can guarantee there are a ton of good coaches who have not choked their fiancée to passing out and spent the night in jail for it.   JFC.  If I ever do that, please nobody hire me.

Hey Chris beard hasn't done that either let's put him on the list.

Interesting choice of words, intriguing even.

Got a feeling this is cryptic for a reason, no?

It’s not cryptic.

All of the chatter four years ago was that Andy Mohr was the economic engine trying to fund the hire of Braaaaad. (No, not Brownell, you sillies)

Sorry was offline yesterday (outpatient surgery).  Don't look like I missed much.  I did see Ricky P endorsed Chris Beard and Dicky V endorsed Bennet.  I am moving toward either Beard or Cronin, I think.

Did not know this, thought Ned was the bucks behind Brad.

Why isn’t Self being mentioned? He almost took the Oklahoma State job last year. People were pissed because it took so long for OSU to name their new coach and that was because they were waiting on Self to decide if he wanted it. Things are a mess at Kansas right now and Self could be looking for a change of scenery.

The problem with Self seems to be similar to the problem with Calipari, and to a lesser extent, the problem with UNC. NIL has removed the institutional advantage these places had. CBB has more parity than it ever has, and that is due in large part to the transfer portal and NIL. Hell, one need only look at CFB, and the fact the B1G has (mostly) closed the talent gap with the SEC since bag men became obsolete. To me, it isn't so much that he lost his fastball, it is that everyone else got Tommy John and has a fastball now too lol.

This is why I am less worried about potentially ending up with a McCollum or Cronin type hire as long as the mechanisms (GM, Personnel director, et. al.) for managing the roster and NIL funds are in place for them. Woody has had rosters that should have been easily in the tournament all four years with simply competent coaching. If we get someone who can really coach, we will win a ton of games in this era. It should have been Dusty, but the sky is not falling.

Edit: we should probably be happy Woody has been incompetent, because if he could even coach his way out of a paper bag, he 100% would be coming back for year 5.

These are the type of people that see a headline and form an unbreakable opinion on something they've done zero research on and have no experience in real life to understand that things aren't always as they're portrayed.

I don’t know what is going on behind the scenes- just saying that Andy Mohr is a major contributor to IU bball.

Exactly.  But with that said, there just has to be some truth to something or else he’d be in the state of Kentucky somewhere.

Kentucky after the Drew thing genuinely wanted Pope.  Why do people assume they passed on Beard?

Andy Mohr talk makes think about this movie.

One of my all time favorites.

President Carter: “What is the solution (to inflation)?”

”You want the solution to inflation? Hi friends, Marshall Lucky for New Deal Used Cars, where we’re fighting inflation not just lowering high prices, not only by murdering high prices, but by blowing the living $&!t out of high prices. Yessir, you heard me right!”
