Think about it this way. In year 1 at a football school he is closing in on winning the Big Ten when he had 0 expectations this year. He has already laid a foundation for success. He is contemplating leaving after winning a Big Ten title and coming home to a blender of a situation where he is now the most scrutinized employee in the state of Indiana with a fan base starving for success. If it doesnt work out immediately people will be calling for his head in no time.

Ok, we could be a dumpster fire!!!

It will be!!!  Michigan don’t want to pay their basketball coach as much as what we will offer

Plus, as has been mentioned, there are a few institutional things (admissions, NIL) that make the IU program more competitive than UM. Hopefully, that plus Dusty's roots here makes this an appealing jump.

I don't know if he wants the fishbowl that is IU.  He can win big at UM and not be under a microscope for everything that isn't just so.

Gotcha!   But it will force UM to pay dearly for him!

Would not be shocked if he wanted to, but the big $$& doaners threatened closing their wallets if he did

The Herbert/Sampson/Greenspan fiasco should’ve been enough for any remotely competent AD at IU to know you always have to do what you know is right and let the chips fall where they may.  But Dolson like Greenspan is a yes man.

That is why I have been saying...either Dusty wants to be here or he doesn't!  It won't be a money issue!

NIL could be a game changer in all this, I’m conflicted on how this will go!  I still think DM could be our next head coach; however, the fishbowl of the IU basketball program is, could pose another issue.

I think we should make a side bet. You get Dusty, I’ll take Brad. It’s a win-win

You are firm on that again this time? Let's Go!

Like I said, scared. Scott didn’t want to ruffle any feathers, so he brought Woodson back for year four. The yes man did what they put him in the role to do, and the guy we could’ve gotten is now sitting alone in first place 70% of the way through the conference season.

Dolson has not been able to act as AD for bball. QB has been Woodsons bodyguard for 4 years.   Dolson wasn’t scared - he got out powered.

that will change going forward.

finally - something to think about … a few days before the Woodson retirement (firing) announcement came out, a story was published (leaked) about QB taking the private jet … coincidence?

Was that QB trying to flex on Scott one last time?

QB flexed on him last offseason. Dolson talked to Pearl and May.  QB said if Archie gets 4, woody gets 4 (and arranged $6mm) for him to guarantee Woodson didn’t suck this year.   And here we are.
