IMO, I think the '21 candidates are much better and much more realistic outside of Calipari, Pearl, Donovan, and maybe Stevens. '08: Calipari, Pearl, Bennett, Montgomery, Barnes, S. I, frankly, don't care about program perception just need reality. You may point to program perception and tie it to recruiting, thus results, but program perception is one of many-mild influences- on recruiting. Yeah, love Cheaney and all but I agree- it's ridiculous. I will say, I think your comparison between Archie and Moser is fairly lazy. They're actually very different coaches with very different systems, experience, personalities. You are correct they are coming from mid major but that's about all I can get down with. Adding to the above...you can actually make some pretty compelling pitches regarding vision to guys looking for a new opportunity- it can be more attractive than a middling situation at a P5 school. Those really aren't places full of basketball prowess. I'd give him points for the success he's had at Loyola. Not saying he's the guy, but a place like IU is a much easier place to attract talent.
