Mercer. Allen. Moren.

He made great hires, no question. I am saying Mercer & Moren may have been easier to sign with more money and more visibility for the programs (and more money for Allen).

I do not live in Indiana and until the BTN, I would never have been able to see I an IU baseball or women's basketball game on TV. Now they are covered from the Mid-Atlantic through the Midwest. That exposure is valuable.

When I think of the most discussed names and then put them in a list......

Brad Stevens
Scott Drew
Chris Beard
Nate Oats
Eric Musselman
Thad Matta
John Beilein

I think to myself.......that's a hell of a list. Hard to be real disappointed in any of those choices. I mean some people have issues with each but you're going to have that. I feel a lot better about this search than I did in '17

I'd be fine with Beard, Oats I want no part of.  Musselman is slightly less 'meh' than Enfield.
What is your issue with Oats? Just not proven it over a period of time or something else? I mean his buyout makes him one of the least likely imo.

Winning the SEC when pUKe is down is the only thing keeping him from being a less accomplished Archie Miller.

Winning a Power 5 conference championship is a quite large differentiator from never being above .500 in one. I'm not advocating for him but he's already car exceeded Archie imo

Since it is slow, any thoughts on where Archie will land or should land? I hope he finds success again, I liked the guy, he just didn’t work here.

I imagine he’ll take the year off. Collect his checks.

He’ll land a nice job the following season.

Might catch on with the CBS/Tru/TBS crew to sit in on a few games as a color guy a la RMK and Clappy ... or not...

Sitting on more than TEN large* can ease the stress of not working...

*yeah, I get it that it's paid out and not a lump sum

I wrote this elsewhere, but I could see him taking a year off, recharging his batteries a bit and then exploring the market. If Pitt continues to flail under Jeff Capel III, maybe that's a possibility. Pitt fans love their hoops, but aren't as fanatical as we are -- that's a place where, in essence, Archie could just go coach and not worry about all the outside influences and responsibilities.

Plus, Pitt is right in his backyard (he grew up about 45 minutes away) -- if that appeals to him.

Feel like his personality will make any TV run very short for Archie.

Never met the guy but he just seems.......boring. Then again, Knight isn't exactly the happiest fella out there. His bball knowledge was great to listen to on ESPN most of the time.

Yeah, but was Coach Knight ever on every night?  I remember him as a guy that was brought in for the tournament, and maybe a couple of big games every year.  His personality is what made it fun to listen and watch.

Archie is more like a wet blanket.  I don't see him adding any color to any broadcast.

Well.. Glass left the place in MUCHHHHH better condition than what was given to him.

lol when you're broke and find a penny on the ground you're up 1,000%. haha

Kidding aside I think Glass did well with the baseball and football stadium. As a fan of Architecture I think there may have been a better way to handle the assembly hall upgrades.

I think if Dolson lands Brad the opinion on Glass changes a bit. The thing I would judge Glass on are his original ideas..

Enhancing facilities was started by Greenspan before so he shouldn't be judged on that.

Fred's original ideas: Designing IU's uniforms, the Student Athlete Bill of Rights, extending Tom Crean, Hiring Archie. He seems to fail every time he had an original idea. He has a couple wins, don't get me wrong, but his misses were huge.

Sure. Tom Allen. Jeff Mercer. I don't see the huge misses you're talking about, at all.
