Please be true. Fresh start would be good for both sides.

I think there’s a decent chance Archie resigns.

Sticking around a sinking ship isn’t very ideal for a young basketball coach who wants to stay in coaching for the rest of his life. He’s not the type of guy to get into selling insurance or homes. He loves basketball.

It would be in his best interest to step away and avoid damaging his career even more.

Offer Scott Drew $5.5 million and get this show on the road.

I fully expect Baylor up his contract this summer. Especially since they are suppose to be good. We’ll see what Baylor does in March.

He's still only 42. Maybe he goes back to a mid major program and has a lot of success with some adjustments to his system. He'd probably get another shot at coaching at big time program.

That’s why we gotta hope Baylor fizzles out in the tournament. I’m talking a big first weekend loss.

4.9 would match Allen and be the 4th highest cbb coach

Yeah I’d guess that’s the rough upper limit? If they’re really targeting someone with P5 HC experience who has a resume worth targeting...

I would expect Crean to have more accolades.  He’s been coaching over twice as long. Also, Archie made a deep run in the tourney without riding the back of one of the NBAs greatest players of all time. He won the A10 his last two years being A10 coach of the year in the final.

That Syracuse loss still stings when you have one of the best teams in IU history. How’s Georgia going?  I said neither stands out because both are proving to be average coaches at this point.

Don’t get me wrong though, what’s went on the past four years here is baffling.

Crean went to the tourney with Marq 4 of his last 7 years there. Wayne was gone after Crean's first tourney appearance. And Dayton had some pretty nice talent while Archie was there. No Waynes, but very solid kids, more than solid for the conference.

Like I said, I'm no big fan of Crean, I just recognize he did much better than Miller at IU. At UGA, time will tell. I know he brought in one of UGA's best classes ever a year or so ago. I thought they'd do better this year. I don't follow them much, but my UGA buds are not calling for his head yet.

Watching Louisville play right now reminds me of us and that's not a good thing. I decided to look at their stats this year. Somehow averaging even less points than us and shoot even worse from 3 at 31%. They only take 16 threes a game which is also less than we take.  Their tempo on kenpom is 293 and they play the pack line as well. Mack's really benefited from the ACC being down and he was left a pretty good roster when he took over. Think I'd rather have Drew, Oats, or Musselman tbh just based off of watching those teams play this year.

Edit: Decided to head on over to a Louisville forum and it sounds eerily similar to ours. Lots of fans arguing over whether or not he's the answer. Most acknowledge that his style of play is not fun to watch. Concerns over recruiting top players to a system that's such a grind. Sounds way too similar to Archie for my liking especially when we'd have to pay him 5 million a year.
