Keeping Archie next season would be a clear signal from the IU administration that they no longer are serious about basketball. It’d be as clear of a signal as you could get. That’s the bottom line.

Archie Miller has done nothing in his four seasons to deserve a fifth season. His results are unacceptable at a top tier program. His results would get him fired at a dozen or more programs throughout the country. If we keep him, that says all we need to know as fans.

I wonder if there is anything to the University or Dolson not coming out in support of Archie. Not like this is only coming from the fans but local and national media saying he is on the hot seat. Not coming out saying Archie is our coach or some sort of vote of confidence might be telling....or this could just be wanting it to be.

I think there is. There has been to much heat put on Archie from articles in the national and local media to go along with upset fans and there hasn't been any support at all. That's not a good sign to me.

I'm going to guess that it will be quiet until IU loses to Rutgers on Thursday. Then there will start being more rumors and leaks coming out on Friday. Gut feeling is that Archie will not be back.

I think Archie Miller is a great guy. That being said he has zero business coming back to Indiana next year. None.

Dolson interviewed for the AD job by saying he would keep football rolling and fix basketball. Time to live up to that.

Yep. Fair or not, how he handles this situation will define his tenure as AD. Time to show us he’s the right guy for the job.

Appreciate having guys like Chris and Pap to give us more info than we could get otherwise. Kind of helps keeping speculation under control somewhat.

Thank you, I enjoy giving information that I hear, but I really have no idea what is going to happen. I just share what I hear from everyone I talk to which is a lot of different people.

I forgot Franklin is out for Thursday. I thought we might have a chance but..

I think having him healthy the whole season would have added another win, maybe two

I agree with that. 1 or 2 at most.

He will be another phony if he keeps Miller for one more year. You are 100% right.

Having a healthy Joey Brunk and Frank lands us a few more wins.  The injury bug really has hurt Indiana the last few years.

Race / Joey / Rob / Frank / Romeo / Hunter

I 100 % agree about Brunk and Armaan and I know you aren't making excuses, but some fans do use the injuries as a crutch. Illinois beat Michigan by 23 without their best player. Teams win all the time with injuries. That is on Archie Miller to make sure there is depth.

On his radio show Archie mentioned the difference between this year and last is that this year the teams at the top of the Big Ten are even better, mentioning Michigan, Ohio State, Illinois, and Iowa...well heck, 3 of those 4 teams have coaches that were hired the same year and after he was hired at IU. Why can’t you be up there with them Archie? Im sick of him saying things like “well we played a tough team in Michigan, they’re ranked #2 for a reason”...I don’t want to hear that. It should be IU ranked up there right along with them and we’re not.

Yeah whether it's been unlucky injuries within the program or our strength and rehab practices..

I've brought it up before and It's probably nothing to even consider.. but is it time we move on from Tim Garl

Yeah he has his own training facility here with his name on it and everything.. there's been a common factor of injuries between Crean's teams and Archie's teams. Tim has been here for both teams. We've had several different strength coaches between Crean and Archie..so..

That’s where Archie leaving open scholarships comes into play for me. I totally get why a coach would like the flexibility that a couple open scholarships brings. But, that flexibility comes with drawbacks too. Most notably, it hurts your depth. The injury excuse doesn’t carry any weight for me because Archie has chosen not to use all his scholarships. If he had, maybe our injuries wouldn’t have been as tough on the team.

Tim won't leave at this point until Tim wants to leave. He's been the Head Men's Basketball Trainer since 1981. So he'll stick around until he decides to retire.

I find it odd that each strength coach we get doesn't seem as worried about jumping higher and running faster. Just trying to get everyone to where they can't wipe their own a$$es because their so buff. Instagram training.

This thread is starting to remind of the last thread like this 4 yrs ago, except now it is about whether ornot he is getting fired or not. A couple of days ago most posters were on the mountain shouting he will be gone. Today I go through the thread and some are now in the depths of despair that he might still be here next year.
