I've heard that...I've also heard from family they've gotten calls. I definitely am sure the latter is true and the former could be just only heard it from a guy I've met in person once

Any idea if the names of potential coaches come up in these calls?

He’s only 41. Graduated from Cal Berkeley in three years as an academic All-American.

Leonard Hamilton was never thought to be a good coach...until he got Dennis Gates.

Leonard Hamilton didn’t attract 5 stars, until Dennis Gates brought them in.

Dennis Gates took over a team that was sooooo bad, he was conference coach of the year, while going 11-21, 7-11 in conference.

He followed that by going 17-7, 16-4 in conference this year.

He is smart, relates to the kids, is a badass recruiter, and exudes leadership in every imaginable way.

He’s also smart enough to have brought an old grey haired basketball lifer along as his assistant. That guy’s name? Dickey Nut. That IU could have Peter Jurkin followed by Dickey Nut in ten years should be enough in itself.

I’m interested

“The latter is true” meaning it’s time to call the moving company?

Yup, to no avail though

Wonder if he thinks he’s got bigger fish on the line? Could just be that he can afford to be choosy for a top-tier spot, even if he doesn’t have anything lined up

Waiting for the right opportunity. I believe he interviewed for UGA before Crean

Point being...he's open to a comeback if it's the right situation

Any idea if he’s healthy enough? I could be convinced that he has some juice left if he’s healthy enough to recruit

Were hearing on here that thad can barely walk to and from his seats at butler games but also hearing he wants to coach division 1 again. Something doesn't add up. Hopefully he doesn't just need money and we fall for it

Not surprised buyout money has been raised. Hoping Archie and IU can come to a mutual agreement.

I hope IU can get a legit coach!

I read an article saying he's much better, so the Butler narrative sort of surprises me. I know he interviewed for the UGA job a few years back, so at least we know he's interested in the right opportunity. If the drop leg issues have persisted though, might make for hard decision. It's not like he has to run the court, but he needs to at least be able to get around easily.

Yeah I will take him over archie in a wheel chair I just am worried about his stamina for recruiting and coaching in games. Hopefully he is healthy and could do the job

All of y’all that criticized the choice of Dolson?

Remember, a major part of being a successful AD is the ability to raise money.

That is Scott Dolson’s wheelhouse.

Before we erect the Dolson statue shouldn’t we wait to see who he hires? If I recall correctly a lot of the criticism of Dolson was that he was a Fred Glass clone except with a stop as a basketball manager. He’s got a chance here to prove those doubters wrong as Glass’s hirings haven’t all worked out obviously, but Fred had no trouble raising money himself

I wasn’t one of those critical, just going off memory for those who were. Consider me impressed when the basketball program is turned around - until then I’m cautiously optimistic.
