Fair. It begs the question… are two first place conference finishes and an E8 in D1 more successful than 4 D2 national titles? I will take the D2 resume in this case.
But that's because archie failed. If archie was just coming up now and that was his current resume I think alot of people would pick archie over BM

Everything coaches do at the level is calculated. Media don't get their info or scoops from AD's or assistant coaches, it's straight from the agents.
Brownell and Ben's agents are working OT right now trying to get their clients name out.

Exactly my point

The demand that the coach also has to be a salesman/ politician/ CEO is ridiculous and harms the program imo.

let’s get a guy that’s a terrific basketball coach and let him focus on just that.

Part of the job. Always has been but is even moreso in the NIL era.

If you want to be a shy basketball nerd, there’s plenty of assistant coaching jobs to be had.

I’d be shocked if it’s not McCollum at this point

I am just worried he isn't an alpha type that can sell and promote the brand.  Speaking to local businesses, interacting with high school coaches in Indiana, I just think we need a charismatic leader.

Say what you will about Bobby Knight, Rick Pitino, Jay Wright, Coach K........they all have a dominating 'presence'.  I don't see that in McCollum, he seems more inverted and a quiet type.  Not sore that resonates with this fan base in my opinion.

Did you listen to his Dakich interview this morning or any of his other sit downs/podcasts?

BM has also won (outright or tied) 13 conference titles in the past 14 years, including 12 in a row with the latest at Drake.

Can see this.  Jobs like this can also bring that out of a person.  Dusty talked about feeling like he was in over his head when he took the FAU job, now he's at Michigan winning a B1G tournament title.
