It would be nice not to have two hires in a row who need the bridge gapped. But I guess it's not to be

The real reason they’re looking more seriously at McCollum is because he’s never gotten so much as a parking ticket. ;)

I actually like McCollum. Dolson is smart enough to get a staff around him to help bridge any gap.  He brought in Fife and Matta before. He will get a good GM in place. Which would be coming regardless and is already in place in other big ten schools.

Dolson let Cig do his thing! What if he would have told him he had to keep x,y,z player when he didn't want to because he didn't fit his system? This is what I worry about with basketball. Will the next hc actually have the reigns or are we still saddling them like what seems to have happened before?

I’ve been around, just don’t post much.  Was told early on it was Stevens for quite sometime then heard nothing for a long time then today out of the blue I get a message.  I’ve been sending @Chris007 messages throughout the search.  Again I’m not sure this is accurate, but we shall see.

Did today’s message affirm or dispel the original message?

I don't dislike McCollum but I have immediate concerns about any candidate that needs the AD to immediately build up a support system to cover gaps in his ability to run a big-time program. That's such a red flag.

Good thing that's not at all accurate and just commentary from guys paid to babble and generate clicks.

There hasn't been a big name coach hired at a major Blue Blood program in some time.  Louisville and Kentucky just hired guys who never won a NCAA tournament game last year.

Unless something happens like with Calipari being forced out, the odds that in the NIL era that a coach who's winning and has a comfortable NIL set up to move schools isn't likely.

the choices are going to be reclamation projects or up and coming coaches and it has nothing to do with Indiana at a program.

Totally correct but some just limes to be drama queens

I never really thought Stevens was coming here anyways. If he does, great, if not, hopefully Dolson can do his magic to pick the right coach. But, it’s fun to say BRAD ******* STEVENS

Cig coached at Bama and recruited top level talent.  McCollum will need help with introductions to the Indiana high school scene. I’m a believer in NIL helping a new coach build a roster quickly. I also think there is some talent on the team and coming in next year.
