I'm sorry, but I just don't think Dusty May was a clear #2. He had 6 seasons at Florida Atlantic, only one anything special and his first 4 were.....not very good at all. This season his team completely pee'd down their proverbial legs late and lost a championship which was theirs to lose. Yet somehow he's a better candidate than McCollium who has by far the best resume of any coach in college basketball save Danny Hurley or maybe Tom Izzo? I don't buy that for a second. I don't think guys like Buzz Williams or Mick Cronin fit Indiana at all, but I'm not about to believe we settled regardless of who we get unless it DOES happen to be a retread like that who's never won anything. Hell....I'd take Dane Fife with a great staff over Cronin or Williams. Allegedly May and Pearl each would’ve taken the job last offseason, but QB interfered - again. I believe that’s where the May speculation, rightfully if true, started. Plus his original buyout at UM could’ve supported that. MikeRoberts 1
Popular Post the_jackal Posted March 11 Popular Post Posted March 11 My stance hasn't changed. I would be shocked if it's Brownell. I don't think he'd be as bad a hire as people are trying to make him seem, i actually think he'd do well at IU with NIL and his ability to coach modern basketball/emphasize the 3 or shots at the rim. i just don't think he has ever been on Scott's short list of candidates and would have to be told 'no' several times (or choose not to pursue candidates after vetting) to get there. remember, Rabby's/media's sources are agents and those in AAU/college coaching circles. Scott and about 3-5 other people actually know what's going on. Let's wait and see who the hire is - Jackal moyemayhem, JustWinBaby, VFury and 8 others 11

Hoosier DaDa Posted March 11 Posted March 11 52 minutes ago, Over 100 Games said: In year 1, Schertz took a St Louis team that went 13-20 (5-13) last year to 18-13 (11-7) in the Atlantic 10, arguably one the top 2-3 mid-major conferences. They went from a 2P% of 49.6% (209th in NCAA) to a 2P% of 59.5% (4th). He’s got them shooting 3s on 50.2% of their possessions (good for 6th in NCAA) while shooting 35.2% (103rd). He had players at ISU shooting 38.1% from 3 the year prior. I’m sure he will be able to do the same or close in year 2 at SLU if he’s there. This type of play jives well with AH. What he’s been able to do there, and what he did before at Indiana State (in arguably the worst city in Indiana) say more than enough to me about what he can do at IU. Someone has to say it sorry if already mentioned. Over 100 Games LIKE HIS OWN POST please give the newcomer $hit, give him the business. Home Jersey, Over 100 Games, GloryDays and 3 others 6

If you aren't playing well and losing, stay off all that stuff and get in the gym. In fairness to JS, and I've also said this before, he's just kind of a quirky guy with a pretty different personality (for a CBB coach, anyway) and didn't do it in a "f*** you" type of way. He doesn't take himself seriously at all and is always clowning on himself, players, etc. I would assume if McCollum did the same thing in a presser it would come off in a VERY different way. Now, does that type of guy work at IU? I have no idea and that was always my one question if JS ever became a serious candidate. Like McCollum, I've never once worried about the ball. It's everything else.
