Yes, although Xavier has not been granted another year yet so it is premature to factor him in. Even assuming Xavier returns, there has been a huge loss in perimeter shooting for a team in which 3-point shooting was not a strength..

It's the apex of portal season and IU will without question be filling at least one and as many as three spots with portal additions.

Very, very good college player - unanimous MAC Player of the Year. 6'2" but rebounds really well for his size. For a scorer an outstanding Assist/TO ratio. A point guard that can really score, and is efficient in doing so.

Declared for the NBA draft but retains one year eligibility. Not projected to be drafted. Now being followed by Adam Howard. Friends with Payton Sparks. From south suburban Chicago. Not sure if this could have legs, but he would be a damn near perfect fit with Xavier as a starter, with Gunn, Banks, Newton, and Gallo left to fight over the three spot.

I don't see him in the portal yet. He's not going to be drafted.

Every team with room, a big NIL package, and a 30 mpg slot would be after him. That's us. He'd be the best get possible because if XJ's waiver failed we're still set, and if XJ plays both him and XJ are big enough to guard SGs. And we currently have a lot of shots to be taken for the last starter we get out of the portal.

I don’t know about that kid but XJ is tough and athletic enough to guard above his size. I wouldn’t worry about bringing in a smaller player at all. In fact, as much as we need shooting I think we need an extra ballhandler in the event XJ would get injured or this frosh isn’t quite as good as advertised.

I still don't understand the worry with the bold. Outside of the NCAA setting precedent and not allowing XJ to play. 

But, this kid is a great find by you. Holy cow his #s are good. A/T, shooting #s, assist totals, 6'2... so he isn't a midget. I think he'd be even more on the ball than XJ, which is completely fine.

To me it seems logical that we are going to be pushing for guys that are currently getting NBA feedback.

I can't remember what the deadline is for those players to make up their minds, but I'm thinking maybe second week of May?
