Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Names aren't getting out in public but coaching staffs have a good read on who the likely transfer candidates are and those that might have reciprocal interest in IU. There are some programs that are popping up with seemingly every announcement as having "reached out". I don't sense that's how Woody will operate. hoosierbgh, Stuhoo, NVFalcons1990 and 2 others 5 Quote

Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Have to say right now if IU had reached out to a lot of players, people would be wondering if the staff was focusing too much on next year and not this year. Still end of season conversations that will be made with the players we have now that could change. lillurk and Hoosierfanyuh 2 Quote

Exactly. The players in the portal already are from bad teams. NVFalcons1990 and lillurk 2 Quote

Josh Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 I'm sure we'll hit the transfer portal, but we also have a couple 5 stars on our team that we picked up when the coaches they committed to parted ways with the schools they were planning to attend. There are a few different avenues to get players now and Woody has been really good at it so far. jonz44 and J34 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 IMO I don't see Schumann randomly tweeting about kids entering the portal unless he's sensed there's some potential IU interest. mamasa, WayneFleekHoosier, Stuhoo and 3 others 6 Quote

Two straight years at over 40% from three and over 80% from the line on high volume, with high minutes, and with defenses keying on him. Videos bear it out - great, repeatable shooting form with quick release. Forget that this is a highlight reel from this year (of course every shot goes in). Just look at the shot form and release: Full size, B1G ready body at 6'4", 205. One year of eligibility - not optimum but would keep scholly free for loaded 2024 class. Would be a two/three combo at IU. Damn near every P5 team nationally is reaching out to Timberlake and Ledlum. So, every P5 fanbase is speculating about fit for these two and whether they'll get a campus visit. Let's see if we get a campus visit. If we do, one would think one of these two is a real possibility NVFalcons1990, MikeRoberts, go iu bb and 3 others 6 Quote

If we do, one would think one of these two is a real possibility I would put him pretty high on my list so far....nice high release, so his shot really plays bigger than 6'4" (he can get it off over taller defenders because of the high release). It is also very repeatable, no weird hitches in it, very smooth. If we got him and Ledlum, that would be huge...obviously a long way to go on both and there will be a lot of interest so we would do well to get one, let alone both. NVFalcons1990 1 Quote

I would speculate that IU is looking at one guy for a portal wing and reaching out to a few qualified candidates to see which has high interest. Next, I would strongly suspect that we are reaching out to, or have already reached out to a priority big. Especially one that can rim protect (more than create offense). Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Things a little rough at Toledo. Toledo has had five players enter the transfer portal this morning…Combined, those players averaged 9.1 points per game this season. One of them is Trey Renn-Kaufman's former teammate Kooper Jacobi.
