Talented, high ceiling, needing a father figure head coach that will tell him the truth. That interests me.

You're an optimist and I'm a pessimist!

Obvious talent, but just as obvious (to me) is the likelihood to detroy a team.

I guess, if you look at it that way,....... I'll listen. Could end up a great story.

I 100% agree with you!  Seems like a guy that doesn’t know when not to shoot.  Only shot it at 29% from 3 but took the most shots!  Truth be told, he was the one who destroyed the NC chemistry

Burnett from Bama is in the portal.   Interesting career so far.   Had an IU offer back in the Archie days.   Picked Texas Tech over a ton of schools.    People on here wanted him bad.    Went to Bama and never could get it rolling.    Ranked around the 30’s.    Hopefully 3rd time is the charm with him.    The new norm.  Even highly ranked kids will enter and exit the portal.    At first I was skeptical if it would change the way coaches would recruit moving forward but now I see clearly why coaches are willing to take a chance on kids with experience and just as talented in the portal then high school kids.     I feel for the high school seniors trying to find a team nowadays.    Hopefully after the covid year it helps out

Have to say if I were advising a high school kid now, I'd be telling them at all costs to avoid signing in the spring and strongly considering how stable the coaching situation is.

Epps is transferring from Illinois.    Sounds like Georgetown will be a place he considers.    He decommitted from Cooley and providence to go to Illinois now he might play for him anyway.

Oof.

Thats an excellent young player and a bad look for Underwood

I might be telling them to sign as quick as possible just to have a guaranteed spot.

That’s how that program is going to be it looks like.    They have the NIL money to bring whoever they want basically but underwood isn’t for everyone and by the looks of it they will transfer out just as fast

Why spend April-July bouncing between AAU events and holding your breath that a verbal commit from a HS junior will hold up until signing day when you can recruit the portal for 8-10 weeks and call it a day?

I've said on here before that if I were coaching in the NCAA this would be my strategy for building a team, in any sport. Every team in the final four has at least 1 transfer in the starting lineup and only one team (UCONN) is starting a freshman. (Not counting Boyd with FAU because he had 23 games under his belt the previous year.) Miami has the most transfers in the starting lineup with 3 (Pack, Omier, Miller).

EDIT: And if I were fortunate enough to be offered a scholarship to play at the next level I would make my school of choice based on NIL dollars offered, coach's development success, or school's rep in a certain sector. Probably in that order as well. And if none of those worked out I would feel fine with that because I'll have the option to transfer out.

He is a redshirt freshman.   Crazy that IU was probably in the lead for Karaban before the coaching change

This one will be interesting: Auburn’s Chance Westry enters the portal. Top 50ish ‘22 wing who hurt a knee in the fall, had a scope, came back for a minute and then shut it down. 6’6” slasher/defender/secondary facilitator. Not a great shooter, but really good getting downhill and finishing.
