I project Losing Duncomb,, Kopp, Race, TJD, JHS. I think we also lose one of Geronimo/Gunn.

Not as starters but for organizational purposes.

1. X, Cupps
2. Galloway, Bates, Leal
3. Gunn, Newton
4. Geronimo, Banks
5. Reneau

X, Galloway, Bates, Geronimo, Reneau our most likely to be POSSIBLE starters. But not all 5.

Portal-wants.

1. A legit 5/big man. Starter type. Hoping for a home run.
2. An experienced W/G scoring who can shoot. Hoping for a homerun.
3. A back up 5.

Timberlake from Towson fits 2.  Going to be a lot of competition for him.  Shooting guard who can really shot.

I'd like to see Reneau develop more as a big wing that could play alongside a true big or as the small ball 5. Pick and pops, plus rebounder at the 4, and can still play in the post. I would agree we need a legit 5 starter type. TJD has been great but not sure Reneau is capable of protecting the rim or defending against the bigger 5s in the Big 1.o for an entire game.

Not winning a game doesn’t prove that ALL the guys “broke down”. Maybe the other team was better and/or it was a bad game. One team loses every single game…..do you think they all break down when they lose? This team has endured injuries and overcome deficits a number of times this year.  IE, don’t always break down when it gets tough.

JG “allegedly” considered leaving the past two years.  I’d bet money, without any (zero) inside info, that he leaves along with Duncomb. That would mean 6 open slots with only two incoming freshman so we have plenty of room to add guys through the portal and let’s not forget that Bates and Malik were both late HS additions.

I think your right on with Geronimo/Duncomb.  I would take it a step farther and bet money that at their year end sit down with CMW those two are told it’s going to be real hard to have a significant role on next years team.

If you get a couple that are grad students they will only be here a year which won’t affect 2024

Yup. It isn’t a concern, due to grade transfers, etc.. Would like to get 3 good recruits from 24. We will have 3-5 open every recruiting cycle. It’s just how things are going to go moving forward.

I think this is fair but also think it is a mid pack team in the BT.  Really think we need to add another top scorer, big and outside shooter.

Yeah, we need a lot. And a lot of player development to try to be a top 25 team.

I’m trying to imagine the type of guys we’d have to add to be a preseason top 25 team by the critics.

I think 2 great transfers, especially a rim protector.

Most B1G teams except Northwestern and Penn State will be better next year.
