Stuhoo Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I especially liked it when Indiana went out to a 15-8 lead over Stanford in the first half, and Walton called the lead "insurmountable." Turns out...he was right! Ol' Bill was so cartoonish that I felt like the mamasa song was playing; after awhile it became indecipherable background noise and all I heard was the shoes squeaking. I'd take a weirdly off-topic Walton over Bardo any day. lillurk, 8bucks, mamasa and 1 other 4 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Franklin had some solid defense on Zaire Williams who is probably going to be a lottery in the upcoming draft HoosierAloha and lillurk 2 Quote

I saw Armaan interviewed post-game; the young man is turning into a grown man. He was asked whether it was a problem or if he had some special strategy in guarding the 6'8" Ziaire Williams. To paraphrase Armaan's answer? It's basketball, I did what I needed to do to keep him from scoring. That's what I'm here for. Strong. lillurk, hoosierfan6157, mamasa and 8 others 11 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I’m not a devout fan of PER but I’m sure it will come as no surprise that TJD leads our team with 30.3. Next up is Race at 26.7. He’s done it fairly quietly but Al is the clear cut #3 with 20.1. Armaan are 13.4 and Phinisee is 13.2. HoosierAloha, WayneFleekHoosier, NRT137 and 1 other 4 Quote

You can almost guarantee with Bardo on the call if anyone dunks it he is going to say “that’s a bitter beer face dunk” HoosierAloha 1 Quote

This might be the first time that I had to rewatch a game where i muted part of the broadcast. I’m usually a Walton guy. I don’t mind listening to him do random games because after watching a ton of games it’s refreshing to hear something different from time to time but yesterday was more then I could handle. One thing about Walton that probably annoyed some people but I have become immune to over the years is his love affair PAC 12 teams or as he calls it the conference of champions. No matter what team it is from the PAC 12 be assured that he will be a big homer for them over the other team from a different conference He also loves to bash the Big Ten. Among other things, he has said the campuses are truck stops. This is when no Big Ten team is playing of course. Quote

How many foul shots have IU shot today? Well we know IU has shot more He was, but I think he catches himself sometimes and then goes overboard praising something about the other team. Bardo may suck but at least he actually talks about basketball, granted it's frequently Illinois basketball instead of whoever is actually playing. Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Started to rewatch the Stanford game last night. Once the team got going (pretty early), you could tell the team was enjoying themselves. Smiling and loving the game with their teammates. It’s a joy watching that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners HoosierAloha and mamasa 2 Quote
Popular Post mamasa Posted December 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2020 One of my favorite things about this game was watching Race mentor Landor on the floor. Landor looked frustrated a couple of times, and Race was right there to diffuse and coach him. Great leadership Class of '66 Old Fart, Str8Hoosiers, hoosierfan6157 and 9 others 12 Quote

We really need that and felt it has been lacking the last couple years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mamasa, Stuhoo and HoosierAloha 3 Quote

Great leadership I agree, and I saw Armaan pull Lander aside twice to chat when he was showing frustration as well. There's a good chemistry with this team, and players such as Lander who likely expected things to be much easier will benefit from players on the court willing and able to calm him and keep his young perspective on point.
