Scotty R Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Just a hypothetical question if there is a 4 way tie for first at 13-7 with IU, NW, Maryland and Purdue what would the game order for the conference tournament be. Would Purdue be 4th since they are 1-4 against the other 3 teams. Quote

There is now a 4-way tie for 2nd place between Maryland, Northwestern, Michigan and IU. But IU's schedule is most favorable. Maryland plays Ohio State and Penn State on the road. Northwestern plays Penn State at home and Rutgers on the road. Michigan plays Illinois and Indiana on the road. ALASKA HOOSIER and Dave from Dayton 2 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Delphi has us as the 2nd 3 seed. I know for a while they were the most accurate. Don’t know if that title still holds. But if they are right we need Arizona and Kansas state to straight up have a bad time for the next two weeks ALASKA HOOSIER and lillurk 2 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 https://bracketologists.com/ nice site that shows team resumes for those interested. click on the team you want to view and then where it says nitty gritty you can click on team sheet view or click on compare and then add any other team you want and it will show a side by side view of the profiles. Very helpful to do a quick view when comparing teams HoosierAloha, Demo and WayneFleekHoosier 1 2 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Drinking game. Anytime you watch a broadcast or one of my post in this thread as we get into March and you hear the words “total body of work”. Sorting tool, conference record doesn’t matter or a team has to be at least 4 games over .500 you have to take a drink or shot. Lol. HoosierAloha, IUHoosierJoe, ALASKA HOOSIER and 2 others 1 4 Quote

So every time we hear “total body of work” or we see “total body of work” we have to drink to “total body of work”. I'm in for the “total body of work”. And I hope that “total body of work” doesn't overwhelm our viewing of the “total body of work”. I've already started....totally. No doubt giving my body the workout. HoosierFan1994 Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Had some time on Barttorvik on lunch. According to their site, even if IU goes 1-1 this week and gets beat in the first round of the B1G Tournament, they're a 3 seed. I'm not sure if I agree with that. If they win both games as they should, it doesn't matter if they lose Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or win the whole B1G tournament, they're the last 3 seed. If I'm Indiana, win both home games this week and don't suffer a bad loss in the Big Ten Tournament. That should get you a 3 seed. Iowa is a tournament team. Michigan is a bubble team. Moves the needle a little. WayneFleekHoosier, southsidehoosier, hoosierfan6157 and 2 others 4 1 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 @Uspshoosier What would IU need to do in their remaining games to "pass" Gonzaga to get on the 3 line? Gonzaga appears to have 2 games remaining with their best case scenario is playing Santa Clara (NET 81) in the semifinal and St. Mary's (NET 7) on a neutral court. Possibility to add another Q2 and Q1 win. IU has two Q2 home games this week then the possibility for multiple Q1 (maybe a Q2) games in the Big 1.o tourney. Uspshoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Committee had Zags behind IU in their top 16. Since then IU beat a tourney team at home. Lost to a tourney team on the road and beat a projected 1 seed on the road. Zags beat a tourney team at home and probably another trash WCC team since the reveal. IU just needs to hold court at home. I personally already have IU as the last 3 seed and the Zags on the 4 line. If IU wins these next 2 and get a double bye they wouldn’t play until Friday and history tells us that committee doesn’t really factor in results after Friday and especially not Saturday or Sunday results from conference tourneys. Not sure why they don’t because it wouldn’t be hard to make contingency brackets but every year there is always an instance where seeding doesn’t reflect a teams results from those days ALASKA HOOSIER, lillurk and HoosierAloha 3 Quote

I was going off of bracketmatrix. 12 Kansas St. - won all games, several very good opponents 11 Iowa St. - lost all 3 of their games 10 Virginia - lost 2/3 with one being Q3 (?) 9 Tennessee - lost 2/3 on road against tourney teams Woah, didn't realize the teams immediately ahead of us absolutely tanked this week. Problem with bracketmatrix is it takes all the brackets into account and some don’t update regularly and others are just trash. I don’t even look at it anymore. I just pick 4 or 5 guys I trust and compare them to what I’ve come up with HoosierAloha 1 Quote
