No and for people that don’t understand Indiana basketball history or minimize it, this is it in a nutshell. You have the top kid in state playing for IU. Not only that he has that Damon Bailey or Cody Zeller quality of not being loud while being that good. This is what it has always been but we just got away from it and the kids on the team probably have some level of jealousy because they don’t get it. Hard to explain but it’s just the way it always has been in these types of circumstances.

Yep hopefully next year is different with 2 studs joining the team.  I hope... and more known commodities returning. Right now we are 1 and 1. Need those numbers to be like 2 and 3

I've been getting the same vibes on this.  I don't see it as a negative at all though since, as you said, it appears they are all getting along.  It is what it is though.  Romeo gets the hype and always will this season.

As far as chemistry goes, I think it helps that Romeo likely isn't going out of his way to chase attention.  Of course I could be wrong on that, but I don't think I am.

I know it's easy for us to make assumptions about player personality and character (often times because we want to assume the best), but absolutely everything I've read about Romeo is that he is very down to earth, level-headed, and ultimately fairly quiet.

He reminds me a bit of Eric Gordon with his demeanor.  I met EG a few times at parties in college and he was a very laid back dude.

Romeo made this list.

What is the point of having a "preseason" award list? If someone comes from out of the blue and has a tremendous year, they aren't eligible? If they are, then what does the list accomplish? Are these just like preseason conf champ picks? Not being snarky, I really don't get it.

Oh, but you really do get it simply by commenting.  That's the whole point is just to keep the game in the public eye and keep people talking about it.  Every kid on the list is being discussed and then there are kids who aren't on the list and those schools are whining because of it.  And I won't swear it's true with the Jerry West Award, but I know some of these pre-season individual player lists are updated as the season goes on and some names will be dropped (injury) and others added based on performance.

This is true.  Just because players are not listed on any preseason award list does not mean they cannot 'play their way on' to the list and/or win the award based upon their in-season play.  It is just to give media/fans an idea of the 'top' players overall/at a specific position before the season begins.

Some of you may have noticed on social media the hoosiers hosted several high school coaches yesterday (to observe practice). I got a quick update from someone who watched.

-Juwan didn’t practice due to a non-serious leg injury

-Phinisee is pushing Green for starting PG role

-Deron seems to be moving well but won’t be ready to play serious minutes for a while.

-Justin Smith is going to have a big year

-the coach also didn’t love Romeo’s intensity level.

-he also said we are deep at wing/forward (not news to anyone)

Nothing groundbreaking. I think this is continued good news on Phinisee.

Damn straight that’s good news on Phinisee; I already know that DeVonte is talented but volatile; if Rob is just as good before his first game, then Rob is gonna be really good.

Thanks for sharing 8bucks. I think many people are undervaluing Fitzner but I think he is going to have a BIG impact on this team. He's gonna get A LOT of shots off the pick and pop and it's gonna be tough for other bigs to guard him outside. His shooting is gonna force bigs to the outside and going to open up the lane for Romeo and other guards to get the rim with ease. People questioned me when I said I think Rob should start instead of Green bc people weren't impressed with him at the HH Hysteria lol. Rob is an old school under control PG who looks for others first and won't make many boneheaded mistakes like we've seen with Green. This team doesn't need a "playmaker" at point bc we actually have shooters this year and we just need someone to make smart decisions with the ball like Rob. I watched him a lot in HS and he is simply a poor man's Yogi without the crazy quickness. He can score/shoot if he needs to but he knows his role is to get others the ball and make the right play...something Green had trouble with last year. My problem with Green is that he is all about the high risk-reward plays...last year he almost had to bc our outside shot was so ineffective but that shouldn't be the case this year with Fitz and Romeo. Hope Green proves me wrong and has improved a ton for the sake of the team but I'm not getting my hopes up...I strongly believe Rob will be our starting PG and get a majority of the minutes running the show come B1G play.
