tortex28 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Potential for next year, I have to go with Robert Phinisee McRoberts, Smith, Morgan, Davis. If Morgan keeps up his play do you think he sticks around for a senior year? Going to have like seven or eight forwards next year. A lot of guys that are like 6 6' to 6 8'playing the same position. Sent from my SM-J727V using BtownBanners mobile app Hoosier82 1 Quote
killerbeezer Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Seeing how a lot of early exits are built on “potential upside”, I think we are seeing JuMos peak. He’s not going to suddenly evolve faster feet and a better 3pt shot. tortex28 1 Quote
Josh Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I think he'll put his name in the draft prep because it's the smart thing to do. Much like we had 4 players do last year. Whether or not he stays will be determined by the feedback he gets ALASKA HOOSIER, IUsafety, tortex28 and 1 other 4 Quote
tortex28 Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 I feel like we need another guard for next year and I have my doubts about Langford coming to IU. I would guess he's probably Vandy bound maybe Kansas. That leaves us with Phinisee and Green. McRoberts is listed as a guard but I think of him as more like a small forward. Our guard play is already an issue this year and we have four scholarship guards 5 if you if you count McRoberts. I see Langford going somewhere where he can be a star for a year then going to the NBA. I don't think he would want to come to IU to try to fit into a system where he couldn't play streetball.Sent from my SM-J727V using BtownBanners mobile app Baltimore Hoosier 1 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Anderson and Hunter are likely to play as wings under Archie. So he’s said. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners thebigweave and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersEven if that comes to fruition, I still see us being only marginally better than this year. I'm not sold on Davis yet. We need a legitimate big that plays like it,maybe in the 2019or 2020 class. I think it will take him a while to really fill out the roster, maybe 2 or 3 years. The thing is with Archie, I believe, is finding guys that fit the system. I think after two or three recruiting classes we will really start to see it takes shape. I don't like our guards or our 5 spot. IF we can get Romeo I can play with the roster in my mind and give us a chance. Still have chance to improve roster through attrition and transfers. MemphisHoosier Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Similar to the other projections, I would go with... Starting Phinisee FRLangford FR/Grad TransferSmith SOMorgan SRDavis JR/Grad Transfer Rotation Durham SOMcRoberts RS SRHunter FRAnderson FRThompson RS FR TBD Green JR (I struggle to see Green fitting in with CAM's style of play longterm) Moore SO (Based off what we have seen so far, I really have no idea where to put him????) Forrester FR (I wouldn't be opposed to Jake RS next year; year of strength training and acclimating to this level) tortex28 and HoosierDYT 2 Quote

Wouldn't surprise me if he decides to head back east. We could really use a grad transfer or two if this team wants to be more competitive next season. Love what a guy like McRoberts gives us but he can't be playing 30 minutes a game if we expect to be successful. MemphisHoosier and HoosierDYT 2 Quote

Sent from my SM-J727V using BtownBanners mobile app It depends on how much he values competing for a NC, imo. Personally I expect him to go to Kansas because I think neither us nor Vandy have what he says he's looking for. VO5 1 Quote

Old Friend Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 What skills does Morgan have at the next level that would make him go that route early? He is a 6'7" thin post player with a jump shot that may or may not be consistent. He is a WONDERFUL college player. He has skills that do not, however, transfer to the NBA.
