Was wearing a heavy wrap on his hand. Shooting hand?? Maybe. He’s “deceptively” athletic. Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2019 (edited) Culver defeats Rock Island 63-53. Galloway with 35 pts. My scoresheet from listening to the Rock Island announcers has Galloway with 11-20 FG; 1-6 on 3s; 12-14 on FT. He had at least 4 reb. Most of his points came on drives to the basket or putbacks. It was either an aberration or he really worked on his FT shooting over the summer as he shot less than 60% last year. Scott Burgess, senior contribuor to PrepHoopsIL tweeted this at halftime: Hoosiers commit Trey Galloway was very good in the first half. Played on the ball most of the time handling the Rock Island pressure. Crafty getting in the lane for scores. Rebounded well. UPDATE: This game is part of the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament and this was sent out moments ago: Tyler Galloway with 35 pts 8reb 4ast and named player of the game. [Yes, they called him Tyler] Edited November 27, 2019 by Class of '66 Old Fart Stat Update ElectricBoogaloo, IUsafety, ALASKA HOOSIER and 8 others 10 1 Quote

Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 27, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 27, 2019 From the Rock Island Dispatch-Argus -- The Rock Island Rocks hung with an Indiana powerhouse for 22 minutes on Tuesday night, but the final 10 minutes belonged to Culver Military Academy and Trey Galloway as the Eagles prevailed 63-53 in the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions. Andrew McDuffy’s 3-pointer tied the game at 37 with just under two minutes to go in the third quarter before Galloway put his stamp on the game. The Indiana-bound senior drove in from the wing for a monster one-handed jam, then drew an offensive foul on McDuffy to get the Eagles a final possession of the quarter. On that possession he found Jakubas Skurdenis for a buzzer-beating 3-pointer and a 42-37 lead. Galloway hit a 3 to start the fourth and added 10 more points in the decisive stanza to finished with a game-high 35 for the Eagles (2-0), who lost in the Indiana 3A State Championship game last year after winning the title in 2018. “He was the best player on the court, and he took over the game. That’s what it came down to tonight,” said Rock Island coach Thom Sigel. WayneFleekHoosier, Hollywood Mike Miranda, HoosierHoops1 and 8 others 11 Quote
Demo Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 Starting to feel like PG might be in his future. Handle would have to tighten up and the jumper will need to get more consistent either way. But the kid really sees the floor and processes so quickly. Plus his length and instincts defending smaller PG’s would make him a tough matchup. He flat smothered Jalen Blackmon. Be curious to watch his development. Quote
ElectricBoogaloo Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 They traveled a long way for that game. I assumed it was the Rock Island area on the south side of Chicago but it looks like the city of Rock Island is next to Davenport, IA. Quote

The event was played in Washington, IL so it wasn't a terribly long drive for Culver. It's called the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions but it's not a true tournament as teams just play a single game. And yes the team in question is from the quad cities area on the IL/IA border. Quote

For some reason seemed like 1 or 2 games but 4 seems like too much Quote
