So far, I think we have a pretty good idea where the ceiling and the floor is with this team. Honestly, we don't have as much talent as thought we did. We have virtually no outside game and our post game is Morgan and not much else. McRoberts might have been our best player tonight. Think about that for a moment. Davis is too slow to play the type of defense Coach Miller wants and is a poor rebounder for his size. We lack a point guard who knows how to organize and run this offense. We might get better as the season moves forward, but we are a flawed team that will only be fixed by an influx of new talent.

Oh, and about that turd in the punch bowl....

This with the Indiana State loss pretty much destroyed our chances of getting in the tournament if we’re near the bubble.

Tournament? Tournament?!? (Jim Mora voice)

Seriously though, we will almost definitely need to win the BTT to make it now.

This is where I hope the boys use common sense. Changing offensive and defensive systems in less than seven months isn't going to be pretty, especially when you have a bunch of non IQ basketball players.

We just don't have the talent. Yes this season reminds us of previous years under CTC. We'd perform well against great competition and then we'd played down to a mid major school. We we replaced the coach and we're still seeing the same thing. How is this occurring, well we still have CREAN's players playing under Archie.

I agree for the most part. I’m willing to throw away the first game against ISU as an outlier. But now the same script against Fort Wayne? That’s a tough pill to swallow.

You know other coaches are going to use this against us. That and missing the tournament for a second straight year. We’re toeing that line of dropping from an elite program to a good one with excellent history. Kids can’t remember a time when IU was elite. That makes recruiting 10x harder

I realize this loss falls on absolutely everyone...but seeing as we have spent a lot of time talking about RJ's and Newkirk's shortcomings...

Does anyone else feel like the exact opposite of heady is an apt description of Green?

Without a doubt. These kids can only rely on Google to see what IU was known for. If Archie got Dayton to succeed then I'm confident he can do the same at Indiana, with his own kids of course.

I just can't shake the feeling that we're going to end up playing Ball State in the NIT, they'll hit 17 threes and it will cap off a trifecta of instate midmajor shellackings.

Of course, we may not even be good enough to reach the NIT anyway.

Archie deserves criticism for this one. He didn't have the team prepared, they never got in a rythem in the half court offense, and didn't emphasize attacking the basket when Fort Wayne got in foul trouble.

Having said that, this packline defense is going to look worse before it looks better when there is a dearth of size and athleticism. That's where we're at now, and the result is getting killed on weak side  threes. This season is what it is, and I'm not sold on next year being that great either given what his vision for the program is, but I've seen flashes of what he's trying to implement and it will come around if the fans are patient enough.

I literally have not seen one post talking about “tossing” Archie. You can make up whatever you want though lol

I'm really not sure why you're so far off the ledge. We have a team full of mediocre role players. We have no shooting, bad guards, and a thin front court. Morgan is our best player and he would be a 3rd or 4th option energy big on a good team. For the first time they're playing for a coach that preaches defense and holds players accountable. They're learning a completely new system. If you think Archie is partly to blame then that's fine, but it's tough for a coach to come in right away and make chicken salad out of chicken s***.

Our roster isnt very talented boys..

Josh - An athlete, not a basketball player. There's a difference.

Rojo- Streaky, lost his confidence to the MONSTARS last season and has yet to get it returned fully

Green - A playground player. He can score and has some moves and passes, but still will make the questionable decisions. He's a decent role player

Morgan - Off to a great start this year, but I still consider him a role player. He's growing into a good player however.

Davis - Still can't compete on the up and down game. He's limited to the post and that will hurt us and help us game by game.

Smith - A freshman.. just not ready.

Al - A freshman..

Moore - who knows

Hartman - A shooter, a leader, can't really move his feet laterally but he's a nice role player.

Freddie - lol, an athlete.

We're filled with role players boys. We don't have stars, we don't have shooting, we don't have elite defensive players. We're just blah.
