Again, I'll disagree with your original statement. We CAN and, I believe will, compete for a national championship without recruiting like KU, puke, or dook. UNC won with a talented upperclassmen led team. Nova wasn't uber talented with one and done recruits. The year before Duke was with Okafor, Jones, and Winslow. Previous teams like the Louisville, Duke, and UNC teams weren't loaded with one and done talent.

Again, give me a team loaded with top 100ish upperclassmen with a staff that can scheme to take away what other teams are trying to do. That has proven to win more championships than the uber talented puke and Duke teams. It's been proven.

I'm not sure I'd go with fake class UNC as an example of doing things the right way. And, I really wouldn't go with Louisville there.

It has nothing to do with their sleaziness. It's about the makeup of a championship roster and sustained success.

A program led by top 100 upperclassmen is the way to that goal. I don't know how that is a question. There are few that can recruit like that and zero who can do that without playing with fire. I want sustained success at the highest level with good kids that come without baggage.

I'll sum it up like this. I can tell now that being 14 down is no longer an impassable mountain, under Archie. We are gonna claw back into games. I love it

We will certainly have chances soon playing duke, Louisville, and Notre dame.

Yes, Hartman is injury prone but he could help a lot. He constantly communicates on defense, has a high bball IQ, and can spread the floor. The team is missing any semblance of upperclassmen leadership.

Totally agree he just needs to stay healthy. I'm rooting for him.

Agree--if healthy Hartman will really help this team. Unlike the other seniors --Hartman will step up and lead by example!

I still wish we had added a grad transfer big man due to Davis foul issues. That's my only complaint. We ared thin up front.

No they didn't? How many Butler players from that team went on to play games in the NBA? Mack and Hayward.

How many players from that Duke team went on to play in the NBA? Both Plumlees, Singler, Smith, Thomas, Kelly, Dawkins.

Weak struggling team last season last half of the season remove our 4 best players and people are shocked we stink? Everyone picked us to lose in prediction thread yet are mad we lost on the road to a experienced team. I am going to look at the positive that we started to play hard and move on this will be a process but i am going to be supportive and patient. This is not archie fault so we should quit pretending he walked into a great team and turned them into turds. Give us a chance people progress was made that is all we can ask imo

Hayward and Mack are still playing in the NBA and Hayward was the best player you named out of the bunch. Miles played 9 min, Mason 3 min, Dawkins 5 min

Disappointing for the most part. But, looking for incremental improvement. We played a pretty good first half.
Sure is below my hoped for expectations though.

That Butler wasn’t more talented. They just played hard and played smart and had a coach who is one of the absolute best in the world.

Watch the special on that championship. Everyone says duke coaches included that the players that played in the game that if you took away the name on jersey that butler had better talent or at worst the same amount of talent which for a typical duke team is saying something. K won a title with Zubac as his starting center. That duke team was fun to watch because they didn’t overwhelm people with their “talent” they played together has a team. There plenty of more talented teams in that tournament that year

Everybody is all over ROJO & Newkirk... and I don't disagree, but what is up with Morgan?

To me he is the most disappointing of all, I had high expectations for him, loved him in prior seasons... this year he can't catch a  pass, all he wants to do is shoot 3s (which he sucks at), can't hit free throws.... The good thing is that I assume his are the minutes Hartman will eat into once healthy....

Is he trying to do too much? Is it mental? Is it injuries? Buy in?

Not seeing much from him defensively either? I thought he was maybe our "dawg" but doesn't seem like it through 3 games.
