Rick Pitino's attorney is Steve Pence, the former United States attorney for Kentucky. Yes, he was the head of that US attorney district. I tell ya, there is absolutely no way that Pence will allow Rick Pitino to sue anybody over this. It would expose Pitino to sworn depositions and testimony, and therein expose Pitino to criminal exposure. Letting Pitino sue would be all but legal malpractice.

He may not want pitino to but the way I read that statement was that it's a forgone conclusion slick rick feels wronged by this and he is innocent of any wrongdoing.

But it's also an opportunity for the weak kneed NCAA to look big and tough since L'ville was already on probation and it's always easier to kick a man when he's already on the ground.

At the expense of much more than the University? I will bet anyone here that it won't happen and it shouldn't.

He's lying again.
He's puffing.
He's papering his defense without EVER daring to address the substance of the allegations.
He will never mention Gatto or Bowen by name.
Everything he will release has been prepared by his law firm, not him.

He won't be suing anyone. Period.

One of my best friends is a HUGE Louisville sports fan. He told me Crean will be their next coach. Then he goes on to tell me he thinks Crean can do a good job. “I think he’ll fit in with Louisville a lot better then he did at Indiana” buddy it had nothing to do with being the right fit. It was about coaching ability. After I reminded him that he would have to play Syracuse twice a year, he started to actually think about it.

Have to think Bruce Brown is involved somehow, right? That saga caused quite the meltdown on this board. Crystal Ball was like 92% in our favor, then in one night everyone flipped their picks and the next day he was a Hurricane. May have dodged a bullet on that one too.

That's why I'm a biologist not a lawyer, lol! Thanks for the decryption of the statement !

Thinking back on Crean. His recruiting picked up and looked promising then fell back off. Connecting some invisible dots it seems possible he recruited well but lost to some with money.

Even the playing field and maybe he does a little better at his next stop because there may be less cheating going on. Sure he still has some game coaching issues but heck a lot of coaches have those too.

It will be interesting to watch that amid this unfolding story.

Problem is it isn't an overnight thing with the NCAA but I would be willing to wager a profile pic or something if you don't mind waiting 10 years for their decision [emoji23].

Really hoping Lyles and Teague and/or Anthony Davis got paid. I want UK's 2012 championship and their "almost perfect" season wiped away. We said it for years, but those teams were so stacked there's no way all of those players were legally recruited.
I am 100% certain alot of kentucky guys got paid. No way they get the #1 class ever year without cheating. The problem is cal is a pro at cheating and know's how to cover his tracks. My guess is Kentucky fans would not care a wink it they paid players.

One would assume but I think all assumptions may be flying out the window with this saga. I'm truly fascinated by all of this but at the same time hoping nothing hits IU with it

I don't think I could honestly bet against the death penalty! I really think Louisville pi$$3d in the NCAA's cheerios on this and added a black eye for good measure by leaving recorded evidence.

Yep fresh major violations where they called out the NCAA and then this? Oh I will take that bet all day long. The NCAA will shut this program down for a year and/or render them insignificant for at least five years while making them lose hundreds of millions of dollars.
