Did all the recruits individually walk down the middle of the court? If so, very clever and easy for the fans to notice. I have not been for several years but back then the recruits walked around the perimeter of the court and were often barely noticed.

Yes, they all walked from opposite corner to the corner behind the bench with their family. Probably every 3-5 minutes another one game out. Each one got a loud standing ovation, obviously with Romeo and Garland the loudest. But imo that was the coolest part, if I was a Hs kid having 15,000 people recognize who I was and stand up and cheer for me just for being there would be impressive.

Some thoughts and ideas for future HH..

- open the doors earlier so people could watch the football game inside

- have a shoot around, skills challenge, shooting challenge, etc. before the introductions while football is being played

- concert/live performance after football game and during intros

- showing recruits walking across floor or having someone escort them with their high school jersey or something to identify the recruit

- incorporating past players in a scrimmage with current players or in a shooting contest

I thought it was a good, not great, HH. There are things I liked (longer scrimmage) and things I didn't like (slow moving between events). I have a feeling HH will be closer to the 2012 version, in terms of attendance, sooner rather than later.

The school can't identify or specifically point out recruits during an event like this. You just have to rely on your fanbase being knowledgable. Good thing ours is.

I understand that but you can get creative. They showed the recruits on the video board after they were seated. They could show a shot of halfcourt when the recruits are walking out. I couldn't see them where I was seated. I guess I should have worn my glasses though..

It didn’t help the football game was still going on as they were walking out and on the screens.

Team Tank was a good time. It's nice not having to worry about tanking anymore.

Well now I'm officially excited for the season to start.  I don't have incredibly high expectations which should make it a fun year to watch Archie develop this crew, especially the freshman.
Clifton Moore should pop in some tape of Jared Jeffries and strive to be like him.  He looks so similar it's striking.

My wife said the same thing.He has the tools to be a really good player.
A year of strength training and experience and I think we are looking at a scary good player.
I was impressed by his instincts getting position as the shot was taken.Good offinsive rebounders all have that quality.

Ah. Now there is a subject I haven't seen taken on in this thread yet.
For how many people was this the first time back inside the hall since the renovations happened? What were your impressions of the "new" hall?

The front of the building is beautiful with the glass and the Indiana blocked lettering.
But for this old guy its all about the new seats.Padded and pretty damm comfy.

If you noticed the only recruits they walked across the court besides the ones committed was the ones that held offers from IU. Alex Hemenway was behind the IU bench for Hysteria but he didn’t get walked across

Seriously though Archie isnt getting enough credit for that. No schools have done this to my knowledge so Archie had to of put that together knowing the results would be what they have been. I guarantee next year we see it a lot tho. We used it at the perfect time too.

Missing two senior starters.. it definitely wasn't a great display of talent but we'll be solid.

Fully agree but solutions are in place. If not this year, then soon.

Schilling was upset about the scrimmage turnovers. That's at least a start.

Previous staff couldn't solve a riddle with an answer key.

You know something different from this Hoosier Hysteria is the hype surrounding recruiting after the event more so than before. In the previous seasons we had been getting more of the standard answers after visits. Plus if we are being real our visitors weren't always up to expectations. I think all of things combined are leaving me more optimistic than even before. I was hoping for Archie back in January when it was possible Crean was going to be fired. On the recruiting end he has exceeded my expectations with relationships he has built that were strained from before. Hopefully we can have a solid season to keep the momentum going into next fall as the talent grows.
