AZ Hoosier

Archie MIller Press Conference

Recommended Posts

I went to the press conference, my notes:

-Sat behind the womens basketball coaching staff, they seemed engaged.

-Was near Tim Garl, he looked bored haha

-General fans looked interested and positive in this new coaching change.

Future is bright. I'm on board with one foot and 90% of my body in, just have a foot hanging out.

Any time the job is open you make a call to Boston and you OFFER him the job. Period. If/when he says no oh well. You tried. Not even making that call is ridiculous. You make the call and you make him say no. Now to be clear before I have people jump down my throat. I DO NOT HATE THIS HIRE. I am very much getting excited about it after the initial "meh" response I had. I just find it ridiculous that Fred didn't make an offer to a big time guy. Especially after his presser to start the process.

Here's a thought: Maybe he did call Boston and said "Any chance you're interested?" And Stevens says: "Thanks, but no thanks." ... That way, you gauge his interest without technically making an offer. ... How uncomfortable would it have been for him -- and Archie -- to stand up there and say, "Yeah, baby! We got our No. 2 guy! And here he is!"

We can only use our imagination or until Glass writes a book to find out if there was an offer for Stevens or Billy.

Like noted, Glass isn't going to say we offered 3 people and we ended up with this guy.

Love ya Treesh, but who cares. Archie is our coach now. No sense in looking back. Put your shades on, the future is bright!

Like I said in another thread, I'm 90% in, just have one foot out the door waiting to come in.

Need to see some recruiting, offense, and defense. Also, would be cool to see some in game adjustments, haven't seen those in years.

I think the opposite will happen.
He's going to tell him what a leader he can and WILL be, and when guys start seeing him turn up his defensive intensity by about 1000% think of what's going to happen in that locker room.

THANK YOU. JBJ is the type of player that takes a team from playing in march to april...if and only if Archie molds him into a leader which I believe he can do.

I think we're going to see the guys buy in. A locked in Rojo, DD, TB, JMo, and Green? Yes please. That 5 right there can take us pretty far

Josh (after a summer under a coach who played PG) / Green

Rojo / Jones

James / Smith

Morgan / Freddie

Thomas / Davis

That's a sweet 16 team off the bat.

Just watched the pc. My take away is he didn't have any gimmicks or nonsense. Just wants to make Indiana amazing. I like the emphasis he put on recruiting in state. I can see how the players could get behind a guy like this, he seems genuine. I'm excited for Indiana basketball again.

A good interview with Don Fischer on Indiana's twitter. Sorry guys I'm not smart enough to link it on here. I've came a long way in figuring out how to link certain stuff but not sure on this one. Lol. General usually gives me an assist
