That's the minimum I think we're getting with Coach Miller. Better times next year, great times ahead. Creans Achilles heel was close games. I would love to know his overall record in games decided by 3 or less points. Where is our stats guru? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Me So Hornsby Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Been reading a lot about CAM the las few hours, like a lot of people have been. If you have questions about his recruiting ability or how he will recruit Indiana, I suggest you do some research. I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of success and a lot early on. Archie is a great fit for iu and iu is a great fit for him. He has already had success in Indiana and now that he has the power of the Hoosier brand behind him? Wow. The B1G and the nation should be worried. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app NCHoosier, Alford Bailey, ALASKA HOOSIER and 3 others 6 Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I think Newkirk played well for stretches. Streaky shooter and the turnovers didn't help. However, he wasn't the only guy turning the ball over. Players need to be placed in a position to succeed and frankly, that offense was way too out of control for this to happen. I'm too lazy to look, but it seemed like toward the end of the season his TO rate was better. I could be wrong. Having said that, he is not a B1G level starting point guard Sent from my SM-T377V using Tapatalk ALASKA HOOSIER and 323SGrant 2 Quote

Cheaney40 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Not to beat a dead horse here...but is there a consensus to the question of "did IU turn down Steve or did Steve turn down IU?" I received some info yesterday that led me to believe Alford turned us down .... but I haven't read through all the pages on this thread since the Archie hire to see if that was discussed ...Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Personally, I think Newkirk would be most valuable to the team coming off the bench in a reserve role. I agree. He was just asked to do too much. He's not a starting point guard talent imo but I think he would do well as a backup playing 18-20 minutes a night. He was getting better late in the season and I think he'll be a valuable piece for us next year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app LockdownD 1 Quote
Trish Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 We had Newkirk.Josh is an athlete, not a basketball player. I will say, I'm curious to see what Miller can do with Josh this summer. Overall, seems alumni wanted him and BOT didn't. Not sure where Glass stood. I personally think Glass was thinking Alford at the press conference. Hence the double check plus stuff and Dakich reaction. I think the BOT and fan reaction put that plan on hold. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
