Hoosier82 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Yup!! We should want him but does he want us? Duke could be in his future but IDK if he would risk it when another top level program is offered.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile appI think there would definitely be some questions that need to be asked. I would think he could be had if IU is truly a top job. Doubling his salary wouldn't hurt also.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
Jeff_Boy_Ardee Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I am starting to get on the Mike White train.1. .700 win percentage2. Multiple Conference Championships3. Top 20 D 4. Young (40 yrs old)Making 2M at Florida. Could he be had? Should IU want him.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI like Mike, really like the way Florida plays on both ends of the court. I think he would be a solid choice and still quite young. thebigweave 1 Quote

bigrod Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 So are we allowed to ask everyone's top 3-5 list that does not include Stevens or Donovan. I love the BD rumors and hope to God they're true, but I'm curious to see what everyone's opinions are on anyone else or if they have changed up to this point. I know mine have some since tournament play and looking more at people since the firing. 1. Mike White2. Holtmann3. Bennett4. Archie5. Marshall6-20....21. Alford I would say that list is pretty close to mine as well.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Kepner 1 Quote

Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted March 21, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 21, 2017 This is what I fear, UCLA coming out of this with a better coach than us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersCan you imagine if we end up with Alford and UCLA ends up with Donovan? I would probably go sit in a corner and curl up in a ball and rock back and forth shouting over and over "Fire Fred Glass!"Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Dankomite, ThompsonHoosier, IUsafety and 5 others 8 Quote
Chris Nieman Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 1.Bennett 2.Marshall 3.Holtmann 10000000000000. Alford I haven't see enough of everybody else to get a truly accurate assessment. Quote

Hoosier82 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Actually someone on the radio yesterday said that Donovan and UCLA would be the perfect fit. I think they assumed Alford was heading to IU. Could they pay 6.5M? That would be close to what it would take if he truly wanted to leave okc. They aren't clearing that from ticket sales at an attendance of 9,000 per game. josnowiu Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Me one moment: Damn. Fred Glass is going to hire Steve Alford his press conference was basically saying the only criteria for an IU coach is that his first name is Steve and his last name is Alford. Me the next moment: Wait Fred Glass did get rid of Kevin Wilson but his character even though he had been IU's best performing head football coach in decades. So why should he care about anything else he sees in the head basketball coach if he is concerned about the well being of the student athletes. This just makes me think hiring Alford is instant grounds for firing of Fred Glass. The issues with the football program and then bringing on Alford's unapologetic defense of a rapist. My list of any coach that's a possibility: 1. Billy Donovan 2. Brad Stevens 3. Gregg Marshall 4. Chris Collins 5. Mike White 6. Randy Wittman/Dane Fife 1000. Tom Crean 10000. Dan Dakich 100000. Pat Knight 1000000. Bryce Alford 10000000. Steve Alford Mostly just want to say that my vote would be for Greg Marshall outside of BD and BS. He doesn't make early exits in the tournament. (Aside from losing to Kentucky that one year as a 1 seed but that was sort of a shitty situation.) He does this with not the highest talent and recruiting resources. Guy can flat out coach and scheme his way to a victory. I feel like it would be similar to Bo Ryan sort of thing but he'd get even better talent. Bo never had the best talent yet was at the top of the Big Ten. Even when not having the best talent in the GM would still make Assembly Hall an impossible place to come in and get a win and would be able to purely outsmart the opposing coach. So basically: 1. Doesn't get upset frequently and doesn't make 1st round exits. 2. Has made it deep in the tournament 3. Doesn't miss the NCAA tournament 4. Hoosier82 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I hope it's Donovan like everyone else, but I wouldn't be surprised if the hire comes out of left field like the past coaching hires.
