What else is he going to say?  He's not going to say one of the players he signed to coach left and the other is a pain in the arse, and that his people have been talking with IU.

I'm holding out reservations on Donovan, but this is what I'd expect him to say.

Well I'm glad to hear about the BD rumors. He should be our main priority. Stevens isn't coming sadly..

Could you imagine him coaching this team? Davis will be B1G player of the year caliber. And if Bryant returns, he'll have a resurgence under Donovan. Not to mention if OG were to return. I still think he goes pro but that's what we all thought of Thomas

It is certainty possible that Billy Donovan will not be the next men's basketball coach at Indiana University. Bringing a sitting NBA coach back to college is no easy task even if that coach is contemplating a move.

If Fred Glass announces Ryan Joseph "Archie" Miller as our new head coach on Tuesday I will still be very excited about the future of this program.

Well I just 'saw' (note the 'saw' in quotations because I mean it in an abstract way) someone I know who knows exactly whats going on with the coaching search but they won't share the truth with me even if I asked them.

Live near Cincinnati, know plenty of UC fans. They have been about as happy with Mick as we have of Crean.  Hard pass.

Those little mid major Shockers are hanging with the mighty Cats.  That Marshall guy might not be a half bad coach.

Or perhaps simple honesty?

No. Look at every time a sitting coach is asked that question. They answer just like that. Someone quoted Nick Saban earlier about how he didn't want the Alabama job. Then boom. One week later he's there.

The rumors may or may not be true, but that doesn't mean that quote isn't coach speak.  Remember, Nick Saban flat out said he will not be the coach at Alabama not long before becoming the coach at Alabama.  Coaches always publicly deny things like this.

Oh, I know. On the other hand he could have said something like "Why are you asking me about that? I'm trying to get this team ready for a playoff run."

Now, that would be a case of avoiding an answer WITH an answer.

I just hope this forum doesn't come down with a fatal case of celebrating too early.

You know what I mean? We've all seen it with players. A guy will hit a shot with seconds left to put his team up by a point. The guys on the floor start celebrating too early, and the other team goes on to score the actual game winning points.

Hope that isn't the case here.
