Walking Boot of Doom Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Yup. It's a fact. He is moving on. A decision based more on health than love for the game. You are a crazy willieSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app BtownBanner6, Str8Hoosiers, Crimson and Cream and 4 others 7 Quote
Trish Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 This should eliminate us from retaining Moore/Al. Assuming James stays which I strongly believe he will based on what scouts are saying so far. OG will go pro, Bryant will test the waters like James I imagine. IUfan_Charlie 1 Quote
Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 30, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 30, 2017 FANtastic news. I have a very strong opinion these guys realize they have some unfinished business to take care of and they truly believe CAM is the guy to help them finish that business. Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted March 30, 2017 Popular Post Posted March 30, 2017 I loved the Hoosier Sports Live tweet: "So we're getting the band back together?" Epic--yes we are getting the band back together for a national tour with Archie as the conductor. We the fans/ groupies are ready to take the show on the road and would love to call the band "Unfinished Business"! I don't know about my fellow Hoosiers but I am expecting some sweet music! Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 I dont expect Al or Clifton back one bit now. OG and possibly TB are the only guys we may lose. Justin Smith takes OG's spot. I feel like we will lose one more to get Kostas aboard. I like a team a lot coming back. This will make the 18 class HUGE for Archie. Priller, McSwain, Hartman, Newkirk, Rojo, TB a possibility again, JBJ if he comes back. That is at least 6 schollys to fill possibly 7. Wow!! I want to take 4-5 freshmen and a grad guy or two next year to stabilize the roster.Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierFan1994 and Stromboli 2 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 I like a draft-eligible player being able to "test the waters," but always thought it put coaches in a very awkward position with trying to juggle who's coming back and who's coming in. I'm guessing coaches and programs have a pretty good idea what each player will do, but unless they changed the rules this year, the deadline for returning to school/entering the draft is awfully late. What if you have a high school kid who wants to commit, but also have a player "testing the waters." Do you sign the kid, then tell your player you don't have a scholarship for him any longer? Or do you tell the recruit "sorry" because the player MIGHT return. But what happens if he doesn't?. Then you've possibly missed out on a potential talent. That happened last year with Williams. I think it was about 99 percent sure he was leaving, but what if during the evaluation camps, he had an epiphany and thought, "Hey, I'm not ready. I want to stay at IU." Crean had already given out his scholarship. Maybe this won't be an issue at IU since Archie said he's likely to keep a scholarship or two open, but still -- it always has the potential to make things very uncomfortable. HoosierFan1994 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Very surprised/excited Hartman is coming back. I think JBJ will too. Most have him outside the top 100 on NBA boards. I'm sure OG and Bryant will at least test the waters. Archie could have a good team next year. I see Indiana and Michigan State (possibly Minnesota and Northwestern) as the kings of the Big Ten next year. Not quite sure on a national scale yet. ALASKA HOOSIER and rebelhoosier848891 2 Quote

rebelhoosier848891 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Haven't heard a peep from Big Tom since the season ended besides those eyes. He's the most intriguing decision for me. Agree. TB drives me crazy at times --drifting outside too much and falling down or crying for a foul call on virtually every play. But--there is no denying he is a GREAT player and I would love to have him back. I would love to see how different coaching might change him.For all students on campus--every time you walk past TB on campus --just whisper one word--"STAY". Maybe it will catch on and he will complete a loaded team ready for a title run.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners thebigweave, Hovadipo and Fulkme15 3 Quote
