If he had an open scholly for this year I was thinking he could kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Politics will always be involved in high level college and athletics sooner or later it will come. He could offer the scholly to zach mcroberts. Now you and I know the kid deserves it from how he played last and he is one of your own on the team. Now the politics of it show high school coaches and AAU coaches you are serious about the inside out recruiting. Unless the scholly's are full this is what I would do. Thoughts?

How many years of eligibility does he have left? I know it will be his 4th year of college but I don't know how that works out with him not being on a team in 15-16.

I didn't say a single word about Yogi in my post. I think it's crazy that it took 3.5 years for him to become a leader. IMO it was some flaw in Crean's model. i don't know if it was not naming captains officially, or this "everyone is a leader" mantra, but for some reason during much of his tenure it seemed leadership was a quality that took longer to develop.
I also never said a word about not wanting any player, so not sure where your post is really coming from? I was addressing why JBJ and RoJo are taking more heat for their poor defense compared to other guys, and rightfully so. Crean basically flat-out said it when he called out his junior class publicly.

It was more about a lot of other post but you mentioned it in yours so it was the one I quoted. You hit on a lot of the same sentiments I have been saying. In Creans world everyone was a leader their own way. That probably confused the heck out of everyone of them. I am sorry to bash Crean but we saw how much he used injuries among other things as excuses. That trickles down to his players as well. Whether they run with it like him or not is the question. Archie self appointed scooch this year so hopefully that happens with us next year. I trust Archie to find the right guy. IDC if he has been here 3-4 years or a freshmen just find someone and hold them accountable. Our coach should be our leader first of all as well. We have not had that. Crean was good at being the players friends not their coach. I believe RoJo and JBJ need to earn every single minute they get but to want either gone is crazy. Both could have went plenty of other places but their here. It is our coaching staffs job to mold them. Archie is gonna get the job done and I am excited to see what both can do with a coach that instills toughness.

He was a redshirt sophomore this year so he has 2 years of eligibility left.

5hTerry Larrier‏ @_TL22

My plan B is another way to make my plan A work!!

interesting retweet from Rojo

Larrier is a UConn bball player that originally started out at VCU and sat out 2015-2016 because of that transfer.  He suffered a season ending ACL injury last November and essentially missed all of the '16-'17 season.  Pure speculation but his tweet could have something to do with his own status at UConn given the post-season turmoil at the school.  Maybe thinking he can transfer again without penalty because of his injury.  Again, I'm just throwing out an idea.

If we're going off the quote, then I would say this...

Rojo's Plan A was too be successful at IU under the Crean regime. However, now his Plan B is to still make his Plan A work even though Crean is gone (i.e. still successful at IU but under Archie and co.)

Good insight.  I'm still hopeful we hold onto these guys we owe it to these kids to give them some quality coaching

But I think the orignal quote was from Larrier and just re-tweeted by Rojo.

Yeah. It is absolutely nuts that we have fans saying they could careless if he comes back. Dude is one of the best offensive players in the conference.

Exactly! I think he could connect more with Archie.  Crean was such a manic guy, I don't think a guy as stoic as JBJ would buy into a coach like that.  I'm hoping that Archie's seemingly calmer demeanor helps him buy in more.

Totally agree with this. Not to mention our guards will actually get to learn from a tough, blue-collar basketball guy that ACTUALLY played collegiate ball as a point guard at a legit D1 school. As opposed to a hyperactive weirdo who players say they never saw him shoot the ball... like, not even once. How do you spend that much time in a b-ball gym and NEVER put up at least one shot???
