Hey thanks for the great insight! Maybe get out of the IU bubble once in a while and actually think critically about the situation. Oh and if you want to curse me out, go for it. Not a fan of the asterisks.

I do not really see how it's so crazy to think that Crean is a good coach, but not a great one, and no longer cut out for the Indiana job. Look around at college basketball. There are a lot of bad coaches out there. Why do you think our shortlist of coaches is so short and headed by someone who's not even coaching in college?

I don't think Tom Crean is a bad coach but there's some very simple things that his teams always lack. Like simple fundamentals. If he was a good coach, his teams would be able to set screens correctly and cut down on the turnovers. There's just a lot of things his teams don't do year in and year out.

Not being a bad coach doesn't mean he's a good coach, he's somewhere in between.  He has never in almost 20 years won consistently, anywhere.  He can't adapt to the personnel he has, if his scatter gun approach to recruiting didn't result in an absolutely perfect fit for his 'system' then he can look horrendous as a coach.  He has the ability to look good in flashes, but again can't sustain that consistently, and just as often looks like an idiot.

I cannot look at his total body of work and say he's a good coach, it doesn't warrant that label.  He's not good or bad, he's somewhere in between, he's mediocre.  Good not great is his recruiting ability.

If your too stupid to get this than I'm sorry but

IU wants a new coach: Billy Donovan is listening

Mizzou wants a new coach: Cuonzo Martin is their "dream get" beside Crean

That is a huge difference lol. IU isn't the only school that plays basketball. This is getting old seeing people who base everything ANY coach does at one school. Coaching careers last 40 years quite a bit. He did not live up to our expectations which included wanting a title and having 5 but he can't live up to any other jobs!!?? Please stop. I can add a bunch of cuss words too to make my post look cool. Point is if you don't like someones opinion, don't read it and move on. I think there is plenty of movement on here to keep people busy. Sorry but a lot of people PAID to research coaches admit Crean is overwhelmed here but would do fine somewhere with less pressure so. Dragging the argument out is the only reason I said this which should make it easy to understand why people are saying he could be a good coach at MISSOURI.

Maybe your stance of "if you don't like someones opinion, don't read it and move on" is not working too well for you seeing as how you completely missed my point. If you take a look at my last couple posts in the last two pages, you will see that I said Crean is a good fit for a school like Mizzou that has lower expectations of their basketball program than Indiana does. I am very much in the camp of wanting Crean out. Also don't call other people stupid when you have two misused words in your opening sentence.

Mile saying there was a flight from Monroe county to Saint Louis today and it's scheduled to be back tonight. Good possibility it could be Crean..

Here is the post:

Checking flight aware this am. There was a jet (HB25 type) scheduled to depart Monroe County for St. Louis. I paid little attention to it since it was to land in St. Louis, rather than Columbia. With no further destination planned.

After hearing that Anderson was getting axed at Missou... I checked in again. That flight was not only scheduled to depart Monroe for St. Louis.... but later is scheduled to return back to Monroe, later Sunday evening.

Columbia is what .... a 200 mile drive to St. Louis ? Not sure, but I think so. And not that bad of a drive for officials to make.

This is the only flight I can find from Bloomington to the St. Louis metro area. I'm not familiar with tracking private flights like this, but wouldn't it make more sense to fly directly to Columbia if Crean were talking to Mizzou administrators/search firms? I am from St. Louis, and Spirit of St. Louis is a much more popular airport for private flights than the one listed above and closer to possible St. Louis meeting sites (or a closer drive to Columbia). Just playing devil's advocate.

According to Google it's about 125 miles from St. Louis to Columbia.  Definitely doable if it left this morning.
