Seriously, there is no way Tom Crean survives this debacle...Right?

I agree, but I think we should all focus on him not being here before obsessing about a successor.  A small part of me fears that Glass is going to give him one more chance.... He truly is like a cat with 9 lives...

If Glass does bring him back, we're starting a change.org petition for the IU BOT to remove Glass. It sounds silly, but it'll have 50,000 signatures within three days.

I went back and looked at this threads beginning.

Proud of my responses. Instincts were mostly correct.

Some people were pretty well wrapped around Crean's finger. Lol

I don't think it was that at all. I supported him up until this season due to giving him 5 full seasons beyond the rebuild. Now he has had ample time. It is time for change. Things change. Needs of a program change. In the beginning we needed a culture change. We are at the point the culture is ok. Coaching needs growth we aren't seeing. Time to make the move imo.

Always the first to toot your own horn lol.

Crean was recruiting at a high level and had a recent B1G title and Sweet Sixteen visits. It was premature to call for his firing when this thread started. Waiting turn out to be the best thing anyway, depending on who we land. Billy D was not an option at the time. We've had more time to watch Archie and other young coaches. And now it's blatantly clear to all that Crean isn't the future. I don't regret supporting him while I did.

I wanted Crean fired during the 2014-15 year after back to back crappy seasons. He lured me back onto his side with last year's performance. I thought he was actually improving as a coach. Then this season I got back on board with firing him. He's taken a team with 2 McDonald's all Americans and several 4 stars and driven them to the near bottom of the Big 10. Few have done less with more than him.

Last season's turnaround was insane. Everyone was peaking: Crean, Yogi, TB, OG/JM. That team had great chemistry.

So sad watching how incapable Crean is at maintaining consistency.

I don't really get the love for Altman. People complain about Crean's teams sucking defensively, Altman is mostly the same. This year is his best year defensively when you looking at the adjusted defensive efficiency numbers, and it is still 16th. And the next best is 31st. It can greatly fluctuate from year to year and usually sits in the 50's or 60's. It is an improvement on Crean, but not really what people are looking for when they talk about defense

Yogi and good Troy bailed us out more than I think most of us realize last year. Never dreamed this team could be this bad.

Actually since 2002, the first year of KenPom data, his average is around 74-75 compared to Crean's mid 90s.  Which is really just less bad.  I don't get it at all.

Relax man. Crean is as good as gone. Not even he can survive this

They were so much fun to watch. I was really pleased with a Big 10 title and a Sweet 16 appearance because I never expected anything close to that with the way they looked early on. The highs and lows are too much for me though. I was expecting Crean to build off that, gain recruiting momentum, etc., but instead we're stinking up the joint.

My first time posting here so I know this has probably already been discussed. I am a long time Hoosier fan that wants Crean gone in the worst way. The guy has survived some of the worse pr issues to ever go on at IU. Players getting arrested in bars and for DUI. Players arrested in Dorms smoking the wild flower and last, but not least players running over another player and ruining the kids life.

all of this on Creans watch and the guy is still here. The admin loves this guy the are always trying to cover for him and I say they will once again. I hope I am wrong!

I never dreamed it could've been this bad but I knew there was a chance of them failing to meet expectations again. Not surprised since it's Crean as the coach

Had you dealt with an endless barrage from a finite group of people telling you, your instincts were wrong for 2-3 years you might want to toot your own horn as well.

Yes, opinions can change and should. Some of us were just much quicker to evaluate BAD basketball fundamentals far before others. The only way it was ever going to work was with stellar recruiting. This has been my mantra all along.
