I'd put him in the "reach out if we get to that point." I agree, even though I feel like our next coach will come from the group of Dana Altman-Chris Holtmann-Archie Miller type of guys we hope have a high ceiling that we can get for cheap. thebigweave 1 Quote
gfunk69 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I'm from northwest Indiana and the worst part about this L is all the purdouche fans taking crap even tho only 2 people I know actually go to Purdue Alford Bailey and Hoosierfan2017 2 Quote
Alford Bailey Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Michigan is as bad as we are. I think we beat them. After that I dunno maybe we can get by NW at home. Crean could end up in the bottom third of the conference. Quote
AKHoosier Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 17-14 is pretty much our ceiling now, even before this game I thought we'd be lucky to get to 18 wins. Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Altman would be interesting. Has made Oregon cool to go to for basketball. I didn't see that coming either. I like his teams and he seems to always have balance on his roster. When Dillon Brooks was out it could have decimated them, but he figured it out. Hasn't made any final fours or anything but out of all the guys we want that aren't the top tier he would be my first call.Stevens, Donovan, Bennett, Wright is the top tierAltman leads second tier with Archie, Mike White, Mack, Hoiberg, Marshall, Mick Cronin, Third tier Holtman, Enfield, Chris Collins, Brad Underwood, Leonard Hamilton, McDermott, Jamie DixonI wouldn't necessarily want anyone in the 3rd tier but most are upgrades. I love Underwood, Cronin, White and really love Altman as well as Archie as options. At this point though I just want change to give our program a new face and get optimism back. sierracoach Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Altman turns 59 next June. Don't see Glass going after someone that old--if Glass does indeed make a move at all. mdn82 and Hardwood83 2 Quote
HoosierRob Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 My number 1 and 2 would be Bennett or Donovan. Probably both pipe dreams though.Either one would have us a contender from the start. Alford Bailey and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
yogisballin Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Mike White's name has popped up a couple of time and I know very little about him. The very first thing that jumped out at me when I looked at his background is that he's always been in the deep deep south - born and raised, college, coaching experience, etc. Purely an observation.Wouldn't be a bad look imho. Guy can coach, and usually solid defensively? I say this without looking at stats guysSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
Baltimore Hoosier Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 It's fun to talk about but I just don't see Glass pulling the trigger.. Might have to wait for next year, which I believe will be another down year based on the mediocre recruiting class. Quote
IUHAHN81 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Let's all help ourselves out. Let's all have low expectations for next yr that way if we do slightly better than expected we can all feel excited. Try that reverse psychology on ourselves. Everytime we expect to be really good, we suck. Worth a shot. Hoosierfan2017, HooHooHoo22 and reconmkd 3 Quote
biteoftheapple Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 As for Altman, I do not think Phil Knight would allow anyone to outbid for his services. Quote

I don't think it's been this loud before as to most of the fan base and alum wanting him gone.I could be wrong but I get the sense that glass is gonna start feeling pressure.Missing the NCAA 2 outta the last 4 years won't fly. bigrod Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Knight was definitely an unknown, but he was highly regarded. He had been offered head coaching jobs at Florida, Wisconsin, and others were looking. Different times back then though...I'd be all for a young up and comer who teaches the fundamentals and team concepts. Maybe that's Archie...Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
weaverswonders6 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Not that most people needed another reason to want CTC gone, but I read a piece last night with a disturbing statistic. Over the last 4 seasons, we're 36-29 in the BiG with three finishes of seventh or worse over last four seasons – including this one not yet concluded. I decided to extrapolate on that further. Take since 2012 and we're 61-41 in conference. Other than the 2 BiG championships CTC has won(remove 2013 and 2016) we're 32-34. Under .500 in conference for 2012, 14, 15, and this year. That's insanity, that more often than not in the last 6 years we've been under .500 in conference. thebigweave, HoosierAloha, Hoosierfan2017 and 2 others 5 Quote

IndyStar Sports Twitter account said this this morning... #iubb fans were booing everything against #Purdue. @GreggDoyelStar thinks that might become a trend. http://indy.st/2ka2sC4 May be THAT will get through to Glass and Crean... hate booing our guys, though.
