Josh Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I don't understand wanting to be like Purdoo. In 2014, they finished dead last in the conference. JSHoosier Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I'm in the camp that says the state of Indiana specifically, and the surrounding area, should be the single highest priority in recruiting. It's one of the richest hot beds in the country and we're located right in the heart. Not many of the top programs can say the same. Not the mention that the way the game is taught can make a difference, a focus on the fundamentals that make the game can matter. Yes, I do think there is a difference from what I've seen of Indiana ball and East coast ball. Soccer players have said they went overseas to become better players become the game is taught differently, because there is less tolerance for error; same concept here. pappy1865 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 No clue why it didn't keep the quoted text, nor my response. I'd agree on the other schools, but NOT ISU. They Sycamore message board is full of the same things. No in game adjustments. Driving into traffic, and watching the bigs dribble off their feet out of bounds, or, at best, a foul, and Brenton Scott (yes, Bryson's twin) shoots freethrows. Poorly. I just give up on all basketball. Isn't it like 49 days until pitchers and catchers report??? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Stuhoo Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 For those of you who think that opening the checkbook will entice Brad Stevens, you are wrong as you can be.If Stevens is ever the coach at IU, it will be entirely because he believes IU and the college game are the best place for him and his family, and it will likely be a decision that he makes with the intention of staying for the rest of his career. The man is already wealthy beyond imagination, and as a premier head coach, he knows he will remain so, whether he is in the college or pro game. 8bucks, ThompsonHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote
ctown2grhoosier Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 So many coaching mistakes in last nights game. 1 play that stands out is Crean putting Green in the game in crunch time with 3 mins to play. We were down by 2 with the ball and Green commits a horrible TO and Neb hits a 3 to go up 5 and Crean immediately pulls green out of the game. Why was he in there to begin with? Why was McRoberts in there so long when he wasn't playing good D and has 0 offensive game? Just makes no sense. His substitution patterns are still all over the place they make absolutely no sense. Crean hasn't had a good defensive team since he's been here. The guy can develop players into good basketball players but he is just not a good game coach. His teams constantly play unprepared uninspired basketball against inferior opponents. it's really sad to see these same things happen over and over again year after year. What more do people need to see that crean is not the guy that will get us to the next level. I'm very happy he's won two Big Ten championships but last year's championship was basically won because of an unbalanced easy Big Ten schedule, he gets bounced early in the Big Ten Tournament every year and the 3 sweet 16 games we've played have been double-digit losses. To me he's not even close to getting over the hump where we want to be. The days of yesteryear are gone. Indiana is no longer a blue blood but we have the resources to get back to that. the administration can not continue to settle for mediocrity. There are really great coaches out there I think would love to come to Indiana. We've got to make a move and soon before this thing gets any worse. Str8Hoosiers and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
recker222000 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I still think Glass knows what has to be done. If fans accept inconsistent play and feel pretty good with what Crean excels at and can live with his shortcomings then there will be little pressure or incentive to make a change. If, however, fans don't accept it and push back then Glass will feel that and that could cause a reaction. Sellouts, wining BT titles is pretty good overall and many may be fine with that. It really depends on what the other group does. If they feel things will not change then they get louder or they get complacent and stop caring. Wrong or he would of fired him before last season.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

Trish Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 If we lose to Louisville this Saturday, which I anticipate we will, then his seat will continue to light up. I would love to see a change up from Crean. He's just too predictable with everything. Can we get the ball to Bryant in the post? Can Josh not play a single minute? Can we please draw up a set and stop relying 100% on our dribble drive offense? It's sad to see the same crap year after year. It's January for the most part and we are starting to look bad.. usually it's the other way around isn't it?.. Hovadipo Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Last year Crean gets praised for making changes and winning us the B1G. This year it's back to he never changes and we suck. I think IU fans just missed having something to ***** about. I'm not saying he or this team is flawless either so don't come at me with the sunshine pumper stuff. And before I get the body of work argument, I didn't see anyone wanting him canned last year when we won the B1G. Why doesn't he get the full season to make changes this time around?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Stuhoo, ThompsonHoosier, Josh and 1 other 4 Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Crean seemed to make adjustments and changes last season but this year he's back to the way he was before. We know how our season will go before it even starts. It's hard to get too excited during the good times because they never last. He's been a D1 head coach since 1999. If he hasn't adapted by now, why would anyone think he ever will? Josh and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Without D Wade, Crean is 7-7 in the NCAA tournament, with 3 sweet 16s in 15 seasons. He only advanced past the first round in 4 of those 15 seasons. He just isn't a good coach... The truth is right in front of us. ALASKA HOOSIER, MikeRoberts, ctown2grhoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Some people thought he made changes. Others were cautiously optimistic that he had suddenly figured something out. Frankly, I was in group C that thought it was just a one off year where he did a good coaching job like we'd already seen him do; every now and then he does have a good year of coaching, but has shown zilch in terms of figuring it out and actually sustaining it. After 20 years, he's not going to. This season has shown just more of what we've seen to be typical of Crean teams. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
