Creans had 8 years to hang a banner. Only thing he has gotten us is a sweet 16 appearance and a big ten championship.

Not very impressive considering this is Indiana....

Sweet 16's are suppose to be a minimum of anything, not a goal.

We are quickly losing our It's Indiana look.

we have slowly lost our it's Indiana look over the last 20 years but that's just my opinion feel free to look up tournament results from the last 20 years( besides our run in 2002 where we beat 3 double digit seeds and by tounament Magic beat Duke) those back to back sweet 16 do not look so bad.

This is true but ask yourself - did we give our best effort when we hired Davis? Did we give our best when we hired Sampson? Did we give our best effort when we hired Crean. Even if you think we gave a great effort when we got Crean, that is 33% of our efforts. We completely whiffed with Davis and Sampson only made sense to one idiot.

So given that, sure our results over the last 20 years has been disappointing but that is because we have not given out best effort to hire the best guy.

Just like when playing basketball. If you don't prepare to excel - you won't.

Even though Crean has been the coach for 8 years, id say this is his 5th actual season of proving himself. Those first 3 years nobody could have coached us better anyways.

while that may be true I was just pointing out the brand name and "it's Indiana look" has not quickly been lost in these last 8 years but as a program, whoever u want to put it on bad hires or what not the "it's Indiana" feel has slowly lost its appeal with each passing year that th wrong person has been in charge. This is an Indiana program problem not just a coaching problem. Until the upper administration want to make that statement it's Indiana mean something again as of now that phrase is "it was indiana".

Remove the first three years and Crean is at best has the 5th best record in conference behind Izzo, Matta, Beilein, and Ryan.  Now, you throw Maryland in the mix and you're looking at 6th place.  Are we good with a middle of the pack program in the conference?  I'm not and never will be.

All I see is a banner that shouldn't have been hung.

Oh I did not disagree with that. Just saying that is not something we can say he has not done. We have plenty of other places we can pile on lol

I won't argue with that. I think the potential is there as demonstrated by the money we can raise for assembly hall, recruiting travel, head coach salary and facilities.

Indiana does have to decide though if they are or were Indiana.

If you don't think anyone could've done better with the third team then I couldn't possibly disagree more.  That team underachieved; they weren't a tourney team but they were definitely better than 12 wins.

The 13-14 year did it for me. Couldn't adjust to the team he built. If you want shooters all over the court... Why get Troy and Stan? That year I was done. And I was a Crean supporter going into that year. I was pumped. That was easily a tourney team with high potential. And it fell flat on its face.

Two McD's AA and 3-4 other top 50 recruits should make a tourney...?  Baffled!

Everything about him is speculative, but there have been some things said by him over the years which indicate he might be interested in the Indiana job were it ever available. If it's NOT available, he's not a candidate. And he'll never say a word about it. If it IS available sometime, I don't believe it's as big a reach as some people think it is.

I'm with you on this. If the job is open, we have a shot at him. Not saying it won't take some convincing, but I think there's an opportunity.
