MikeRoberts Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Because that 20 yr old kid doesn't see IU as anything but a stepping stone between high school and the millions. He doesn't care how the team performs as long as he makes his millions. It's rather apparent in a few of their styles. I mean, one mother already is laughing her way to the bank.i liked your post/response to mine because I agree in General but I don't think that equates to "apathy" as I was commenting on mdn82 and Naturalhoosier 2 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 i liked your post/response to mine because I agree in General but I don't think that equates to "apathy" as I was commenting on Apathy in the sense of not caring. They don't care about winning. They care only for themselves. That's the apathy I'm referring to. ;) Edit: Our interpretations of apathy could be different and that's ok too. :) mdn82 1 Quote
mdn82 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Not sure what to make of this but, IU had their biggest comeback win in the Crean era this year against ND (-16). We should have never been down 16 but nevertheless, we came back and won. I don't know if that was a complete fluke or something different that is happening. Anytime during Crean's time here that we have been down double digits I have said, well, we're done and we always been, but for the first team, we fought back. Maybe it was a fluke, maybe not, just trying to find something positive regarding this coach and teamThe worst part was Ray Charles could see an adjustment in the zone that created that opportunity and yet it doesn't carry forward. That should have been the light bulb moment. IMO Quote

And this is the problem with our program. This is fine at Kentucky. That's who Kentucky is. It is not fine at Indiana. Not our culture, not our history, not our DNA. We have a coach who enables this and allows 23 turnovers in a game against a bad team because he wants the players to showcase themselves. We need our soul back.... Josh Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 My thought is that the apathy that the general fan base is feeling has leaked into the locker room and has directly affected the team's mindset. I think blaming the fanbase for the team's struggles got Mike Davis fired. They don't need us to tell them how bad they look. They know. I'm sure the lockerroom mindset is messed up, but that's on them. Quote

Basically said the bench and bullpen weren't loud enough and talkative and that was the reason we lost. That was his last year. ALASKA HOOSIER, Class of '66 Old Fart and AZ Hoosier 3 Quote

JSHoosier Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I read through the first few pages again, and wow things have changed. I went from "he shouldn't be fired yet" to "so, has he been fired yet?". I said in those pages Vonleh's team was undisciplined, sloppy and at times downright lazy. Flash forward to now and the team is undisciplined, sloppy and at times downright lazy with the added bonus of thinking defense is de-thing that goes around de-house.
