Crean could only win big once every few years at IU and his next job definitely won't be at our level. His view of his value  doesn't match up with his value on the market. I'll be very surprised if he's s head coach next year.

I wonder how this might affect the stipulation in his contract (with IU) that he actively look for employment after termination?  Kind of sets up a possible legal challenge.  That is, unless the terms are defined in the contract (very possible).

Media gigs count, so if he becomes an analyst for a year that would also knock off some of the buyout.

Crean subtly throwing Glass under the bus? Talking about South Carolina's AD saying "He gets what is means to be part of a team.... You've got to have people who have an idea of what it takes to be successful."

Not so subtly. I read that last week on Twitter.

 

Id like to know in what way Glass inhibited Crean. This same team nonsense is asinine. Crean recruits his players and coaches. Glass funds the endeavors.

That was supposed to be the point of the article... a Crean point of view that it isn't that he is not in demand but rather he is being picky because he wants a better situation, conducive to winning..... As if he didn't have that before...

Mentions that several have reached out but he wasn't interested.

Crean's just getting out in front of it and saying that he's going to be picky so that way when no one hires him he has an excuse. Glass gave him nine years and countless resources to prove that he could build a consistent winner and he couldn't do it. I think he'll have a hard time finding a more supportive athletic director than Fred Glass.

He brought up the word sustainability in that interview in regards to the athletic office. You know how you create that sustainability Crean? You win consistently. Jesus it isn't that hard.
