Here's something I have been pondering for awhile.. Say Stevens does decide to return to college basketball next summer.. But it is not to IU. How do people react? I have no sources saying he will or won't it is just something I have been thinking about for awhile.

If he comes back to college and IU didn't try to get him, then I would stop watching IU basketball. It would be the clear sign that IU doesn't care about basketball. If IU doesn't care, then why should I?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Stevens as our next coach.  But what if he still has a strong emotional attachment to Butler for what he accomplished while its coach and just isn't comfortable coming back to Indiana to compete against Butler for the headlines and the in-state recruits.  Just a thought; nothing more.

I'm way too far behind on this thread: Has the idea of Billy Donavon leaving OKC in the wake of Durant/Westbrook departing (after they miss the playoffs) seem credible to any one?

Something I haven't put much thought into. This could very well happen and am interested to see what plays out. I think OKC dies once one or both leave.

I don't know how credible it'd be after just one season, but I'd be on board with it.  I'd prefer Stevens though.

I am still on the bandwagon. This is sadly the type of win that prolongs his stay. Long season left. Hard being a fan right now, because I want us to win so badly but I think Crean is still not our answer long term. Those 2 desires don't line up. Very difficult for me right now.

Absolutely agree.  You want the team to win and be successful but at the same time, wins like this just put another '+' in the retain CTC column.  Had they not put it together in the last minutes and pulled out a win, the clamor for CTC's head would have become even more deafening given how poorly they played for the biggest majority of the game.

There are more options out there than BS. Not that I would think he is ready but Butlers coach clearly has taught his team how to defend PU and he is known as an offensive coach

That size difference in person was amazing. Then you add how they blocked out. Had a guard coming down to help on boards and any time they dribbled down low. That team was well taught. Fluid offensively. You guys should see their pregame routine. It wasn't just shooting. They practiced from 3 angles being active with their hands defensively. IU practices shooting 3's. Even big Tom.

OK - firemeisters. Would it be OK to dial it back a bit now with this win?? Duke lost today. UK lost today ( yay!). The players sometimes do not execute. Should the bloggers demand for the those coaches to be fired? "Fire coach K!!" C'mon - way too much armchair head coaches. How many of you should be fired in your professional positions when you step in some mud? We all do at times. I do a lot of business executive coaching and all leaders have weaknesses. Not sure Crean has fatal flaws as many executives do. What many of these viewpoints do not appreciate is the responsibilities to multiple stakeholders of an AD and BB HC. Sorry but none of you could sit on that seat on the bench or you would be doing that...

did you have this post planned and ready for us to get our first quality win and then break it out lol. Why does it bother you if these guys discuss firing him? If he keeps winning this thread will die on its own and you won't have to worry about it.

crazy to think before this game they had a ken Pom defense ranking of 136th but after the game jumped to 98th.

Even in their pre-game they were practicing against specific cuts Purdue would make so they would be accustomed to the angles.  The way they rebounded or collapsed on larger players when they touched the ball was practiced and was well planned.  Maybe it was a one off performance, but that team was ready for everything Purdue had.  That isn't easy with that size.
