Just saw we turned down hosting because the students are gone.

WHAT A JOKE.

What has this University turned into? Because the kids are gone? BECAUSE THE KIDS ARE GONE?!

Fred needs fired along with Crean. we need to start emailing Quinn Buckner, he's the only one with power and a sense of the real world.

This is a joke.

The 'renovations' was a mistake by ESPN. IU has said from the get go from moments after the bracket went out that 'it was due to students being on break'. Not sure if this is a good excuse but no one at IU every tried to put something out there about renovations.

Ok thanks. Good to know....I guess...although renovations would be a more legit reason. It's a further insult to the fan base seeing as how it's much more than just students. Own up to the product you put out.

They didn't think the AH renovations excuse over that well. Those are something that are obviously planned and ongoing, so you'd think it would have been disclosed/leaked that we would be deferring a potential NIT first round game at least a few days in advance.

As to the motivation for such cowardice, it's 50/50 in my book right now.

Another thought--I don't hate this just for the fans but for our players too. It's been an up and down season but they worked hard--just too much selfish play and no true leadership. Now they have to finish out the season with what amounts to a road game in a hostile environment against a team that also beat UNC on their floor ---because their school gave up a home game even though we earned the higher seed. The administration or Crean or both put them in this difficult situation and it sucks for the players. I was looking forward to going to the Hall and supporting them one more time this year --as much of this saga is not their fault and they are stuck in the middle. Maybe IU should have declined the NIT--but I bet the players wanted and maybe even voted to play. I just wish the Administration would have the same heart --and stop being such cowards in this situation. This is a black eye to IU in my book--and reinforces how much chaos exists in our program. I told someone (once I was sure the UM players were ok) that Michigan isn't the only program that's plane is off the runway. Ours is off the runway and stuck in the mud and it's embarrassing !

Maybe we don't have a new coach because very few want to work for Fred Glass.

So why not cancel/move all of our winter break games?

For what its worth Terry Hutchens tweeted he believes there is more to this than what meets the eye in terms of IU's explanation for passing on hosting game. I'm not sure what he knows or believes is the actual motivation but thought that was interesting.

As doom and gloom rages thru this thread.  Let us not forget the good things.  The massive cookout we had planned when crean gets fired.  My wedding with all of u as my groomsmen in candy stripped tuxes paid for by my fiancés credit card.  Just because Glass and Crean aren't true Hoosiers obviously doesn't mean we aren't!  We ride on boys!!

Where's your wedding going to be? I'm totally crashing it. Open bar I hope? I'll be the guy wearing a Damon Bailey jersey

As others have alluded to, have a strong feeling there will be an announcement tomorrow. Whether that is to fire or keep him, no idea. Glass almost has to do something now.

There is absolutely 0% chance we move a game elsewhere and proceed to put something out he is coming back. That would be the equivalent of admitting he made a mistake quickly.

Since they moved the game to a "safer" place, I would say it is highly likely he will give him the vote of confidence tomorrow. He doesn't want the game packed with loud boos at Assembly Hall for his decision to retain. Little does he know that next year will be full of booing fans with pent up anger at the decision.

You're probably right. I just see no way that another day of silence will do anything but hurt the program more. They have to see that..

Agree 100% Rebel. Either way IU has sullied their reputation as a program. And now they're sticking it to the guys and the fan base simultaneously. There has to be a major change, and higher up than just HC.

The fact that The IU administration deferred on a home game in a post season tournament has me furious. I don't give crap one what it might signify to the future of the coaching staff. This is a ridiculous move. WTH are we doing? BECAUSE THE STUDENTS ARE GONE??? It's a home game!!! Give your team a chance!! I'll never forget this.

Here's a thought. Maybe Crean wanted to host NIT game and Glass hopes that by denying him that opportunity he'll resign on his own and Glass won't have to fire him. Probably not a sound theory but no crazier than any of the others I've seen tonight.

This is a joke.

There is always Wayne Radford, Harry Gonso and Phil Eskew Jr.
